walcott is better than people give him credit for. a few years ago i wondered if we'd missed out on a player we could have brought on and developed but it's not as if arsenal gives a player a poor education.
like bestie said. the next winger we buy, and next years big summer purchase will be BALE.

If Walcott was left footed I'd bid £15m for him straight away. I've always liked Walcott, his pace can be deadly and it's one thing I've always feared when we have played Arsenal, it can be such a huge weapon and allow him to skip past players with ease.
My main issue with Nani (besides his huge lack of consistency) is his lack of taking people on, it's so annoying when you see him take people on in one match only for him not even attempt to in the next. Bale and Walcott may not be as skilful but their pace allows them to be generally a lot more effective in 1 on 1 situations.
He'd do okay at City but I can't see him getting that much playing time, more than likely that he'll be an impact sub.

I quite like Walcott as well actually. His inoffensiveness off the pitch annoys me, but as a player I still think there is something to be said for a rapid-as running machine in guile mould (Giggs of youth) rather than powerhouse mould (Valencia of beast). And as altonian says, if he was left-footed I'd be an even bigger fans. Still not hugely disappointed that we don't have him though, and you and I have a similar yearning for BALE! BALE! BALE! BALE! BALE!

We won't sign Bale. He's not worth anywhere near what he'd cost anyway. Too inconsistent and still dining out on that one game against inter 2 seasons ago.
Walcott is pretty mediocre I've always thought. He's capable of some good things but they are usually few and far between.

If we could get a left footed winger of his quality we should go for it. But this is all a part of my affection for 4-4-2 You're all wrong about the formation. It is superior to everything else as long as you have the right players for it.

put it in your sig i don't know why people think bale had that one good game against Inter. yeah he has quiet games, like many young wingers tend to have. but i've watched plenty of games since Inter that he has impressed in. and i've seen enough to know that he's United material, the obvious successor to what Giggs was on the left and i think old trafford would be a stage for him. and the fear factor, as mentioned before by bestoí.

Walcott? Might as well give Usain Bolt a try - hes faster and probably better at football.

If I could fit all our best players into a 4-4-2 I would be demanding we play it every week. Anyone who thinks it's an archaic tactic are just unimaginative!

Is there really that much fear factor with Bale? A year or two ago maybe but now I think most have realised that he's not the great player he was threatening to become. I'd be more scared of a player who does it every week or at least most weeks. Bale can hurt you but he doesn't hurt teams very often. And to be fair, Bale is what 22-23? Giggs had been class for years at that age. Bale's yet to have a good season.

Pace and power and more than a bit of technical abilty scares anybody. I also think comparing him to Giggs is unfair. Giggsy's a freak.
