I don't doubt that for a minute. Anyone who put the amount of effort he did into signing Fellaini obviously wouldn't be interested in Mata. Absolute true story. I don't know how I missed it. I mean the evidence is all there staring me in the face and kicking my shins 😃 just think, every future "History of Manchester United" book has to cover this period somehow. I vote heavy redaction.

Gone!
Thanks for that goal against Young Boys, hopefully the lads can pass on a CL medal!
A much maligned player here but his work ethic never an issue.
Scored important goals in 3 semi finals that we went on to win!
Respect!

Like most, my feelings on him were clear and I’m relieved he’s gone. However, he was instrumental in winning the FA Cup (great performance in the semi) and brutalised the Ajax youngsters in the Europa, a trophy I for one really enjoyed capturing.
And he still won more than Jordan fucking Henderson.

To hell with any magnanimity. He embodied everything wrong with our club since Fergie left and his departure should be celebrated like a country who has just overthrown an evil dictator. Tear down the statues. Burn pictures in the streets.

Tried so hard to believe ... When we sign Fellaini he should be playing a lot more like 'Belgium Mauro' than 'Everton Mauro'. Fellaini did look worryingly like the out-of-his-depth signing certain people mentioned before we signed him today. Then again, sometimes you just come up against a team who are a step-up in class overall and there's fuck all you can do about it. Big Fella is still worthy of time to adjust though. Let's face it though. He was essentially complete shite.

Well no matter what we all thought of him he is gone now lads. For me the number 1 positive of this is no more shitty excuses - i.e. No more plan B = long balls. Plan B must involve smart tactical changes and the players stepping up a gear.
I used to love the long ball as a child. It meant fun, loveable, and exceptionally tall strikers (6'3, sometimes 6'4!!) with little skill other than "wins headers" started regularly in Britain. Those days are gone. Thankfully.

Never complained, never gave anything other than 100%, never gave in to the boo-boys, never have I ever seen a player with such chest control, but was never really United quality.
Good bye, good luck, good riddance.

Even though it wasn't his fault, Fellaini represented everything that was wrong with the style of football we've produced since Fergie retired. You can't fault a player for wanting to join us and you can't fault a player for playing when his manager selects him, I only blame our management for being so incompetent to even think that bringing him was a good idea in the first place.

One final thing- I know Fellani has become the posterboy for post-Fergie but to me that’s Di Maria.
