Chris - because although they're not completely rare, his posts are sparse enough now to feel like Yoda is sharing some wisdom or something.
Dizzy, when he was around, and SET before he packed up.
I think I might just be a nostalgic or something, as most those of names are lads who have been here since Genesis! But I'm interested in seeing what most opinions say really, just enjoy being involved with 100% people who aren't at all ABU for a change.
Also, cheers to the people who included me. I was all set to come into this thread and decry it as a bad idea, but changed me mind 'reet quick! As long as people don't get offended it's brilliant.

To be fair its probably Tatty, Johnboy, Bestie or Stew for me. It appears as if they have a mind of their own and can think outside the politburo approved rhetoric. if you're listing independent thinkers, where is dan united, rorsarch, traffordbrown, mltzer, renemules, tommyred, fletchabey, alantas? if we're talking an RoM pissup it wouldn't be as good without jam, jay, ginger and anderson08 for sure. i could waffle for hours with majorred, redcase, etc about games, kingnothing about metallica, then you've got aussiegray, mox, kamilio, reddom, daz, willie, benji, areba, kstand, bunch of others who havent even got a mention yet. the curiously named sky sports 1... WK you are prob my favourite poster to have a ding dong with, maybe bestie, carbon also. would be boring to agree with everyone all the time. ALLSTARS~! no wonder other forums are poaching the talent (i know what forum red dub is on  ) |

I finally got a mention. Guess I can put that noose back in the box now. For my money's worth, I think I tend to agree with the majority of things that Jim posts, and when I do disagree with him, he's always pretty good at defending his argument. That's the key, the best posters, imo, aren't necessarily the ones you agree with, but the ones that you can have a proper back and forth with. That's why I always hated it when someone would just have a go at me for being a contrary - this is an online forum, surely the ideal place to discuss differing views. You get some radical opinions, some more philosophical, some downright stupid but as long as you can have a good time debating these various opinions the forum is a place worth visiting. It'd be too hard to list favourites, but I have all the time in the world for anyone that posts sensible, well-argued points, rather than just racking up 1000s of posts by constantly putting 'seconded' or a smiley face. That's not a dig at anyone in particular because I don't think there's anyone on here that is guilty of doing that enough to be annoying. |

Jokes aside; I genuinely appreciate everyone's contributions to the forum. Anything from United to Rival bashing to Politics to Debates about religion to Debates about conspiracies to personal problems to WWE, books, movies, games and beyond - it's pretty great considering the tons of forums outside with the amount of nonsense thrown around there.
For example, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised when Vidic>Superman messaged me, and shared his appreciation on the debate regarding 9/11 conspiracy recently. I really appreciate his views regarding the topic, and would like to publicly extend my gratitude to him too.
Things like that give me a good smile. And smiles are nice. I approve.
PS. Thanks Jim for mention. Good to know that young 'uns like us ain't left behind!
PPS. I hope Daz is okay.

I guess  Yeah, I haven't been on and commented as much as I used too. Had some tough personal shit, combined with being a mod and trying to keep the peace, but I'll try and comment a bit more now. I have much appreciation for plenty of members on here. Some very smart and insightful comments from several people and there are times I'm like, 'wow, what a great point'. I think what separates this forum from others like red cafe, is that people take the time to make full, excellent points rather than boring one or two word answers. You can actually have a discussion here and not just on football. Keep up the good work peeps. Carry on doing what you're doing. |
