Lads, I'm coming to Manchester next weekend for the Tottenham game! and I'm allready excited as a little girl, since this is something I wanted to do since I was a kid. So I would appreciate it greatly if you could give me some advice about places that are a must see in the city, nightclubs to go get smashed in and other stuff I can't miss in three days I'll be spending up there (actually two days as I plan to wake up with massive hangover on sunday morning, so I probably won't be doing much ) Cheers

I enjoy a sing-song in the Blaize as much as the next man - but how many lads go in the Trafford for a match day pint? I actually really like it in there. I like looking at the memorabilia-covered walls whilst tossers barge past me and leave most of my beer all over my shirt.

Kro on Oxford Road, next to Man Met Union? It's now a Tesco.
Anyways, Blaize and Sam Platts as mentioned on matchday.
Tiki Hula in town for in town drinks. If that's to dear for your pocket, Font is always a good shout, but always mega busy at weekends, but full of lovely hipster student ladies, if that's your thing.
As for food, Almost Famous Burger, which is located above Tiki Hula, but you can be waiting an hour for a table if it's busy, but well worth the wait. Dough, also in the Northern Quarter. If you're after a curry, the best places are usually the little take-a-way places dotted in and around NQ, bit for touristy reasons, obviously, there's Rusholme, but it's more Fried Chicken Mile than Curry Mile these days.
Trof @ Deaf Institute is also good, and does decent pub food, and is quieter and larger than its NQ counterpart. Zoo opposite is also a good craic, but again, very studenty.
As for clubs, not a fucking clue, but for cheapish drinks 5th Ave, and there's Factory just opposite.
If you can, also check out Southern 11 in Spinningfields. A touch pricey, but they do the best steak in Manchester for my money. And their burgers are second only to Almost Famous.
This is by no means exhaustive, and I could throw a hundred more places at you, but those are the places you should be looking up on a first time trip, IMO.

Tatty mentioned Font, that place is unbelievable if you want a cheap coin night. You can go in with 20/30 quid and come out unbelievably wrecked.
Footage is a great pub too.

I've actually been to a couple of clubs down there,. - it's a good night out. Don't recommend it to anyone who's a bit homophobic, but if you're open minded you'll have a good night out.

Yeah, Canal Street is a great night if you don't mind a bit of the 'other stuff'.
