In all seriosuness, if I could afford one, I'd have one. Simple as that. A mate of mine who works for Vodafone has an HTC as his personal phone, and gets an iPhone from work. Says his next personal upgrade is to an iPhone and literally the only reason for people to not have iPhone's is the price. He predicted that in a couple of years basically everyone with have one.
If you can afford it, get it, would be my honest opinion.

If you can afford it, get it, would be my honest opinion. That's not true at all. That wouldn't be the only reason besto. The iPhone is a ridiculously overhyped device. In fact, it hasn't even done much innovation for the last couple of years ! All it has done is litigate over trivial issues. They are taking the same route of the Mac. Mac litigated against Windows and in the end they cared so much about litigation and silencing and curbing the opposition that they forgot to actually try and compete by innovating themselves. Soon they just faded away with regard to market share. The iPhone will go down the same route. HTC and Samsung are innovating with each product. Apple is stubborn and refuses to. How else can you justify the lack of NFC in a mobile device in 2012? When Apple released the 4s, Samsung already had 4G LTE on its devices. Apple is catching up now. While Samsung innovates with clever new tech like S-Beam and S-Vision, Apple increases its screen size by an inch. Nokia has brought in wireless charging, PureView camera technology. Other companies are innovating. The new maps feature is a godawful mess. Google will just soon come up with some crazy ass new feature on the maps front which will render Apple's maps obsolete . Of course they will soon release an Apple 5S, with all new Apple maps, and everybody will flock to it. Apple's tech is fairly mediocre, yet it prices itself so high. Why? Because they have superb marketing, I'll give them that. Its a very shiny exterior for a very ordinary interior. They market themselves so well that people will not stop and will get themselves one just because its new, no matter how small the changes really are. I mean seriously, Tim Cook got up on stage and said this about the new set of ear buds that come with the iPhone 5 "The new earphones direct sound into the ears for maximum effect." As if other earphones direct sound partially into my arsehole. Only Apple can attempt to get away with such bullshit. And iPhone users will let them Take a look at that Jimmy Kimmel video about the people that actually use iPhones. They don't even know the basic differences between different iPhones themselves. Yet they will continue to buy it. But the thing is , people are wising up to their act. 5 iPhone users I know have converted to the GS3 and they are now not going back . And I suspect that other around the world are too. For 30-40% less price you get that many more features. Hard to beat that logic. If Apple had priced their phones reasonably, I would give them a glance, but for what they actually offer and what they ask for it? No chance. My opinion would be to steer clear and go for the GS3 or the One X.

Iphone5 is the same price as a gs3 must admit I can't see a fone beating it. Obv everyone will have a diff opinion but in my mind the gs3 will take some beating. Only the concept and design apple moaned about the software is samsungs and in my opinion is flawless. I've not used a iphone5 as of yet so can't really slate it but I've used the previous versions and found my gs2 and gs3 to work far better. Each to their own I guess.

Yup you're right about the software Paul. Android has been perfected with 4.0 and Samsung's Touchwiz has improved a great deal as well. With regards to price Paul, the GS3 is $549 whereas the iP5 is $650, both for the 16GB versions.

I have an HTC Desire S, and I said that. Nice breakdown of anti-iPhone-ness though.

Let me put it this way, I'll rather have HTC G1 than any of the iPhones ever! I'm a huge fan of HTC phones, hell, I even installed Kubuntu on G1 But S3 is fucking amazing, although, One X for me, RULES!
