3 of those 4 semi finalists this year are what’s wrong with modern football none of them are there on merit Welcome to elite European football for the next 5 years. Unless we have a Renaissance

Unless we have a Renaissance well if alarm bells aren’t ringing in Europe and the PL that all competitions are in danger of becoming boring due to state backed financial doping then football will deserve all it gets. even sky are now struggling to build any excitement with the ‘race for top 4’ promos they run because the league was decided 2 months ago along with city winning the league cup 4 seasons in a row and constantly chasing quadruples it’s just not exiting. Even though I hate to say it Liverpool’s win last season was an exciting story for the media(similar to our first one in the early 90s) because neither team had won it for decades and both clubs just got everything right and where deserved winners also the Leicester win was proper Roy of the rovers stuff, finally arsenals titles where also thoroughly deserved. When city lift the PL trophy in a few weeks(bar city fans)Its just a none story.

The joke is on the FA/EPL/EFL for allowing those various hostile and questionable takeovers to happen all over the place in 2000s so I'm going to argue that those sporting regulators have let the fans of this sport down big time. Now the things are finally starting to boil over and we saw that with the #ESL annoncement two weeks ago and with the GlazerOut protest yesterday, its slowly dawn on the fans that something is seriously wrong with the sport. So I'm going to argue that time is now to arest the slide as football has been on bad track in past 20 years or so. IF nothing meaningful happens and football authorties are still happy that they sold the sport down the river they will evantually get what they deserve. We might disagree with Perez but he might be correct that the whole house of cards might finally be coming crashing down by 2024.

He's really good friends with Al-Khalifi, was an ambassador for the Qatar World Cup bid.

There's no doubt that money makes a huge difference for any football club but let's be perfectly honest with ourselves here. They have spent a fortune but so have we. We bought shite and they bought WC class talent, coached them properly and those signings have stood the test of time. Yes they spent more than us last season but if you consider what that was spent on, then the fault lays at the door of our owners and particularly Woodward. They spent roughly the same money on Dias that we spent on Donny, ones has become a cornerstone of there defense and changed there season and the other can't get a game and will probably be sold at a loss just like Sanchez. We are the champions of pissing money down the drain and it's the primary reason we don't have a squad beyond our first 11 to compete with City. Liverpool more than anyone proved that with a top manager and a transfer policy that makes sense, you can compete and beat these clubs. It's not impossible.

Liverpool more than anyone proved that with a top manager and a transfer policy that makes sense, you can compete and beat these clubs. It's not impossible. This is true , but while they had a solid plan we just keep throwing them in the hope something will stick. Everything they do is is very well planned , like getting Ferran Soriano, laying the ground work for getting pep , buying players suitable for peps style of play , even fixing the mistakes. You see something not worked out , out they go next window. We woould probably extend Phil jones contract again. Just look at how they moved Kompany and now planning to move Aguero out. We went from Fergie to Moyes !! The from Moyes to LVG , because LVG had a decent world cup , ignoring the fact they are stylistically complete opposites. Then planned on making Giggs the next manager (thank god that didnt happen) and threw them all out to appoint Jose ! Again completely different styles of play Then failed to back Jose and fired him. Its like one step forward , 2 sideways then 1 back .
