Basel were superb . Absolute tactical masterclass from the Basel coach. Salah, Delgado and Streller bullied them all night. Fantastic result. Kaugh at us for losing to Basel will you? Have it you tosspots.

I love this claptrap that Mourinho has started to come out with, because he knows the club dropped a ball by signing all the no. 10's in the world and forgetting to buy a player who can score goals, masterfully borrowed from Wenger ''this team is young''...
I saw him spouting this shit last week and just KNEW where he was headed, here is his excuse, nicely wrapped up - sadly even the fucking commentators write down his excuses word for word.
An average age of 27 played last night, and at the end the commentator said ''maybe Mourinhos gamble with youth was too much - is the club right to put so much faith in youth'' WHAT???
Today Mourinho has 'questioned the maturity' of the players....
WHat utter bollocks. Apart from RVP and RIO/Vidic none of our players were over 25?? (havent even bothered to check this - someone correct me).
An average age of 27 is NOT A YOUTH SIDE.....mourinho NEVER invests in youth - wenger does, so I suppose he could get away with that excuse for 10 years...but this is quite amusing to see
It is amazing to see Mourinho transform this chelsea side into a youth side who may lose lots of games not because they have no goal scorer and because they spend near on 60 million on players they didnt need so much - no its because they are a youth team see?

I read it was 28. Players like Hazard can't be classified as outh really either. He's pretty experienced. Mourinho will sort out their problems eventually but this is exactly how i expected Chelsea to start. They need a striker & they won't threaten to win the league till they get a good one.

But yes, I understand the intent and crux of your msg. Especially Renties "signing all the No. 10s". lol But truly want them to "scrape" past the initial rounds and falter in the knock outs big time so that their efforts are split on different assignments.

Age wise Chelsea are pretty similar to United. We have a lot of young players (DDG, Smalling, Jones, the twins, Zaha, Wellbeck, Januzaj), plus a good core of players at the right age (24 - 30) Rooney, Nani, Hernandez, Anderson, Valencia, Young, Fellaini, Cleverley, Evans) as well as experienced players 30+ (Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, RVP). It's a great mix. Chelsea also have their young players (Hazard, Oscar, etc) their 24-30 group (Cech, Cahill, Luiz, Mikel, Torres, Ba, Mata, Essien) and their experienced 30+ players (Cole, Terry, Lampard, Schwarzer), so it's bollocks to blame youth, they have a number of older, very experienced players.

Cech is incredibly experienced as well. Anyone who was around during Jose's original run and is still there cannot be counted as 'inexperienced in any way for me. Mourinho and media excuses be damned.
Oh, and I've always quite liked Basel! Since we played them; really decent wee team.
EDIT: Oh, you did mention Cech, in the 24-30 bracket. Still, I stand by my point!

So hang on- the Rents buy a few players in positions they already have, pretty much every journo backs them to win everything, fans (bizarrely including Utd ones) totally buy into the hype, then football starts and it becomes obvious their squad is completely unbalanced and they really aren't all that.
Jesus, that's never happened before.

The English media won't put any pressure on Jose as they are that far up his hole.
