Genuinely don't get the relevance of these threads this season.

Beat the gooners next and we jump above them on the table. It would be nice looking down and seeing the gooners, pool and Everton below us.

Genuinely don't get the relevance of these threads this season. Jay has been hacked. I think. This does not sound like him.

Van Gaal has been vindicated so far with the Welbeck sale. Another game, another anonymous performance.

Henry was a cocky two faced twat. When he was at Arsenal he raved on how Wenger was a father figure too him and he would never leave Arsenal. Then he had an affair with some bird, left his wife then done a runner from Arsenal. Might have been good on his day but he was a cunt too me.

Carbs mantioned something that I had noticed and that is the number of players that Wenger 'nearly' bought...the latest being ADM...
Check this article...
Arsene Wenger has revealed Arsenal missed out on a young Angel Di Maria in the latest of a string of transfer near misses for the Gunners. Here, we pick a ridiculously good XI made up of players they NEARLY signed...
Wenger’s fantasy Arsenal XI (Formation: 3-5-2)
Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
Arsenal were keen on Cech way back in 2002, long before their west London neighbours. However, work permit issues got in the way of their efforts to sign him from Sparta Prague, and the Czech shot-stopper ended up at French side Rennes. Arsenal’s loss was Chelsea’s gain...
Defender: Gerard Pique
Arsenal currently have 5ft 10in left-back Nacho Monreal filling in in central defence, but it could have been so different. Wenger did manage to lure Fabregas from Barcelona’s youth ranks back in 2003, but Pique couldn’t be persuaded. Sir Alex Ferguson had better luck the following year, but Pique returned to Barcelona before United saw the best of him.
Defender: Vincent Kompany
Like Pique, Kompany has developed into the world’s best central defenders after Arsenal missed out on his signature. Wenger was keen to take the Belgian from his former club Anderlecht in his younger days, but a big transfer fee and a dodgy knee put him off.
Defender: Phil Jones
Ok, so Jones is obviously the least glamorous member of this team, but the versatile defender was at the centre of an almighty transfer tug of war between Arsenal and Manchester United when he left Blackburn. Jones’ career has been hampered by injuries, but he has 13 England caps already and at the age of 22, he’s likely to improve.
Midfielder: Xabi Alonso
Arsenal had the chance to sign Alonso in 2008 when former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez decided he wanted Gareth Barry instead (good one, Rafa). Wenger tried to haggle a few million quid off the £18million asking price, but Liverpool’s bid for Barry fell through and Alonso stayed at Anfield before ending up at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Midfielder: Angel Di Maria
A 17-year-old Angel Di Maria was a work permit away from joining Arsenal, according to Arsene Wenger. “We had identified Di Maria when he was 17,” the Frenchman said. “We saw him in an international competition and we wanted him to come here. But he could not get a work permit...” The brilliant winger eventually went to Benfica before earning big money moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Midfielder: Yaya Toure
Wenger famously said no to Toure after taking him on trial as a youngster. The Ivory Coast star and brother of former Gunner Kolo joined Greek side Olympiacos instead, before establishing himself as one the world’s best players at Manchester City via Monaco and Barcelona.
Wide forward: Cristiano Ronaldo
Wenger ranks this as his biggest regret, and quite rightly too. Ronaldo was shown around Arsenal’s training ground and the Gunners even had a shirt with his name and number ready for a presentation. But he went off and played a friendly for Sporting Lisbon against Manchester United, and Sir Alex Ferguson immediately opened the chequebook.
Wide forward: Lionel Messi
The story goes that Arsenal’s refusal to buy Messi’s family a flat in London scuppered their chances of signing him at the age of 15. Wenger denies that claim, but he admits the Gunners were keen. Fabregas’ acquisition was a decent alternative at the time, but Messi has turned out to be pretty good, hasn’t he?
Striker: Zlatan Ibrahimovic
“Zlatan doesn’t do auditions.” A 19-year-old Ibrahimovic famously snubbed Arsenal when Wenger offered him a trial during his Malmo days. The Swedish hitman went to Ajax, before embarking on a career around Europe’s top clubs, scoring goals everywhere and winning just about everything. Unfortunately for Arsenal, Nicklas Bendtner happened instead.
Striker: Didier Drogba
Wenger passed up on Drogba when he was a youngster at French side Le Mans. In fairness to the Gunners boss, they did already have Thierry Henry at the time, but Drogba’s later success at Chelsea must have been particularly galling... Particularly as he made a habit of terrorising Wenger’s side at every opportunity.
