Derby County 17 year old. Dunno if anyone has been watching much of the Championship but this lad has been bossing it for a while now this season. Two goals in 20 odd games from AM sort of position.
The Beeb have done a fairly good article on him (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20769208) but the most poignant part for me where quotes from the kid himself.
"I do not want to put anything about football or seem arrogant. I'm still a 17-year-old lad and I have not done anything yet"
How refreshing is that to hear from a 17 year old?! The article mentions interest on our part, if the lad continues the same level he has achieved this season, or the likes of city or Chelsea start really sniffing around, I'd definitely fancy bringing him in. I know we have Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Powell, Barmby etc. but I'd much prefer to have another potentially top-class option for 2/3 years down the line than see him making it against us.

What would the fee be do you reckon?
Definitely sounds like our type of player. Young, talented and grounded.

Not sure, but the way Clough talks about him I think they'd try to hold onto him for a couple of seasons. We could probably get him for some more than the sort of money we paid for Powell at the end of the season. The rumours are of Barca having him on their radar as well, so stories could likely add to his valuation even if they aren't true.
He's playing tonight for Derby against Hull, if you're interested.

Sounds like we've been scouting him (in a similar way to Nick Powell).
Interesting. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the kid.

Looks very promising, likes to get stuck in as well by the looks of things, nice video here against Leeds;
We've supposedly watched him quite a few times this season already.

Looks very promising, likes to get stuck in as well by the looks of things, nice video here against Leeds; We've supposedly watched him quite a few times this season already. Looked good in that game, plays with his head up and seemed a decent passer, plus I loved seeing him charging back and winning the ball with a very nice tackle. Price would have to be a consideration but if he plays like that most weeks I wouldn't mind seeing us having a go.

So, apparently some other people have noticed that Will Hughes might be a good signing. Welcome aboard the wagon gents!

How did you even remember you'd created this thread?!
Anyway, I like him. Talented, young and English is hard to come by and we would probably play well above value but I think it would be excellent long term. Sign him and then loan him to another Premier League side to get experience without the huge pressure of being in the United starting line-up. See how he goes from there. Hopefully he'd have a much better attitude than Nick Powell.
