In the last decade City have won 12 domestic honours, (League, FA Cup, League Cup). Almost half of all available, which is just as dominant as any 10 year period United had. Watch them do it? They've already done it. No champions League though and may it stay that way for all eternity.

Yeah I'm with Bestie. We need the trophies. Without them we aren't a big club and we'll end up like Tottenham with our best players wanting to move on in the prime of their careers and always losing out to more successful clubs in the transfer market.
And if the inevitable blow up under an elite manager results in us dropping out of the top 4 occasionally that is no bad thing especially if it forces the Glazers to spend big to back the next manager which helps to upgrade the squad and clear out dead wood.
The Glazers want us to cling on to our selective memories under Fergie and champion things like promoting youth, buying young players over established superstars, sticking with our managers rather than chopping and changing, and look down on big spending clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City and elite managers who are impatient and want to win things straight away.
It saves them money and they can make excuses for the lack of trophies by saying we are trying to build something and talking up the potential of the team.
And of course Ole is absolutely perfect for them. It's easy to get a large segment of the fan base to give a club legend time. He's so undemanding and easygoing that the players will never down tools. And our squad is currently good value for top 4 thanks to Tottenham, Arsenal falling away and Leicester never quite being able to go the full distance.
That was the crux of my previous point. It’s what you want from the club going forwards. I'll take the trophies for a couple of years then rubbish for a couple. It's the best we can hope for until the ownership changes. I am saying no to literally Ole (and DNA equivalent) again.

Jose Mourinho: “The reality is since leaving Utd even with a different investment, a different stability, a different perception that somebody is doing a amazing work, what happened was - nothing happened.”
Oh how true that is!

Factually correct of course. But funny to see how the Ole apologists responded to this on twitter.
e.g. the squad is so much better/Ole has improved our players.....a £200M net spend usually has that effect and what's the point of having a better squad if you can't win anything with it?
e.g. Jose's washed up, Jose's won nothing since leaving us, Jose's bitter......doesn't change the truth of his words
e.g. he left us with a big mess which we are yet to recover from......Really? Players downed tools in Jose's final season but everyone in football knows that is a temporary problem that self-corrects as soon as a new manager comes on board. Chelsea got back to winning ways quickly enough after Jose left.
e.g. Jose doesn't understand a project doesn't have to peak after a few seasons.....Ole isn't going to be another Fergie. 2nd place is as good as it gets for him and the Europa League was his best chance of a trophy and he couldn't even win that.
e.g. Jose also celebrated finishing 2nd.....four seasons ago when our previous highest finish in the post-Fergie era was 4th. Finishing 2nd four seasons later is the very definition of nothing has changed. And really Jose's achievement was far more impressive as we achieved a higher points count and finished ahead of a much better Tottenham team and a Liverpool team that wasn't plagued by injuries and burnout and reached the Champions League final that season and went on to win it the next.

A trophy has to be the minimum requirement this season if ole gets Sancho and maybe one other in.

I'd also insist on us getting to the knock out stages in the Champions League. Not exactly progress as Jose managed it two seasons in a row. But another season seeing us play in the Europa League would be absolutely humiliating and unacceptable. A trophy has to be the minimum requirement this season if ole gets Sancho and maybe one other in.

The best excuse for him is that it's all Woodwards fault; he's been screwed over by Ed & the Glazers.
Because, you know, it's Ed stood on the sidelines during training saying "Don't you fucking practice defending simple set plays. I'm warning you!"
And Ed who is in his ear during games saying "I'll tell you when you can make a change son, and not before!"
And Ed who says "Right that's the team to play this week. Yes, Lindelof is playing. You got a fucking problem with that?"
And on and on and on.

I thought he was getting a new contract ? Very strange that they are reluctant to announce it. Probably waiting for the right time to bury the news . Not sure Tom Heaton will work, must be Sancho then ?
