I heard some chick say he was predictable but just she couldn't stop him - that was a couple of years back, mind you I heard he just had the one trick, before trying to slam the balls into the box.

His main trick is slamming the ball into the first defender while trying to put a cross in the box. But he did a good job vs Arsenal, and is one tough guy to ride the ball off of.

He's played really well in the last 2 games. Rightfully first choice (it seems) going in to the new season.

I just absolutely hate that wiggling, indecisive thing he does when everyone on Earth knows he's either going to knock it past and go right or pass back infield.

I get Tony's done well at RB in some friendlies, but for me Darmian is an automatic first choice atm. He had a mare at LB last season but we can't judge him on that when he's an RB, where most of the time he was solid or better. Darmian & Shaw on our flanks could be a wonderful pairing if given time, whereas Tony... I just don't see it.

Also, despite everyone seemingly screaming blue murder when he's picked, he hardly ever makes mistakes. And he was immense in the Cup final. It was his run towarsd the end of the game that lead to Jesse's winner. And he's also on another level to Darmian going forward. As we need width to come from the full backs. that can't be ignored. It won't matter what some of us say. People have decided they don't rate him, that's fine. I suppose we'll have to see who Jose picks. if it's Darmian, I'm totally cool with that. But if it's Tony I'd expect people to be as well.
