The lack of proper preseason causing problems for city as well. There was no reason to start the season so quickly and it would’ve made more sense to start in October when the transfer windows closes in Europe and domestically. Greed over common sense.

What a load of shit talking. Rewarding penalties for obvious cases of accidental handball is not the right way to make the game more entertaining. The Dier incident is very clearly not deliberate handball, you cannot physically jump without using your arms and his arm was not used to intentionally block an effort on goal. Christ, he wasn't even looking at Carroll.

It's easy for us to laugh at City (harder when you realise their misfortune means another Liverpool title), but the truth is they have been treated poorly on this issue - as have we.

True but whining about it isn't going to get them anywhere. They didn't lose due to fatigue yesterday but really bad defending, if your get past there press there like candy floss at the back. Personally I think City reached there peak two seasons ago. I don't expect anyone to challenge the scousers at this time unless they lose a key player or two. They had genuine weaknesses in midfield last season but with Thiagos acquisition there going to be hard to beat over 38 games.

Liverpool benefitting from a VAR decision. Some things never change.

The scouse have been much the better team here, but encouragingly they're still only one ahead and if Lacazette could finish they'd be level. They also got lucky with Mane's yellow - on another day they'd be dropping points (and still might).
But they look much better than City right now. Hopefully the compressed season takes its toll on their squad.
