How often have we seen teams look OK for the first half of a season but then go on a bad run and end up dragged right into a relegation scrap? Newcastle this season have all the look of a team going down, they are awful. I love to see Newcastle struggle so a relegation would be brilliant. But, I like Bruce as a United legend, so sorry for him. It would be wonderful to see a season that began with those backward supporters singing about a Saudi takeover and how they were going to buy the league, ends with them relegated. Bruce was a top player but he's a bang average manager I'm afraid. He's like a lot of British managers, bouncing from job to job doing mediocre work. Granted Ashley probably doesn't want to spend any money at this stage. Being a Geordie the abuse is bound to feel pretty personal.

His points per game is better than Rafa's was, and Rafa played just as boring and negative football as Bruce does. But the majority of the suporters loved Rafa and wanted him back, but hate Bruce. Managing Sunderland obviously hasn't helped, but the abuse about the style of football is just weird considering they worshiped Rafa.

Rafa was the biggest thing since Keegan for them hence the hysteria. I never understood it other than him having a good track record in the game. Hes in his 60s now, why does he want a job like that and all its bullshit? No top manager is going to touch Newcastle especially when the owner wont buy players.

From pen to Chelsea, to free kick, to 2-0 Leicester in about 2 minutes

I'll never want Rodgers, and there are better managers out there, but he is doing an excellent job at Leicester for sure. Could definitely see Arsenal in his future, and he used to coach at Chelsea so maybe they'd go for him (but you'd think they have their eyes on Allegri).

The odds must be shortening on Lamps getting the sack, so he could very well end up there.

I’d have Rodgers and whoever is in charge of their recruitment here.

I wouldn't say no to Rodgers now.
He seems less of a massive and complete tool that he was at Liverpool. Think he was pretty arrogant and full of himself then, getting sacked seems to have brought him down to Earth a bit.

Think he was pretty arrogant and full of himself then, getting sacked seems to have brought him down to Earth a bit. To be fair to him, they sold two of his strikers and sturridge was never fit. He must of lost nearly 100 goals from the team in 12 months without replacements. Hard to do anything in those circumstances.

Anyone with questions about Rodgers should watch a full replay of that Leicester game this evening. They dismantled Chelsea. They have completely evolved from the 'sit deep, hit it to Vardy' tactic. From back to front tonight they were organised, quality, and ruthless. Their set pieces are a dream.
I genuinely enjoyed watching them for 90 minutes.
To be very clear as well, before any incorrect inferences are drawn, I am not saying any of this as a slight against Ole. Might not need saying but I really am just trying to compliment Leicester's performance and the obvious good coaching that has gone into that team.

I just caught the tail end, but that’s actually the first step piece goal they’ve scored this season. They’re up there with the big boys and have just as much of a chance at the title as anyone else, so for that alone Rogers deserves credit. Lampard on the other hand, has Chelsea 11 points behind us (if we win tomorrow) having spent more than anyone else this summer. If Southampton and Villa get something from their games in hand, Chelsea fall to 10th. Surely Lampard isn’t long for the job.

Rodgers could very easily leave Leicester mid-season if Chelsea come calling. I’m guessing he’ll also have them much improved.
Lampard will probably not see through the week as Chelsea’s manager.

Just also on Rodgers, he's an actual coach, he's clearly improving players, and is able to get his team playing a certain way, that's what we are really missing.
