It’s hard to continue to motivate the same people over a longer period of time. The squad hasn’t really been freshened up that much over the last couple of years. Existing players maybe feel like they’ve seen everything he’s got. Limited amount of strings to his bow. And that’s not even really a criticism of him, not many managers can be successful at the same club over a 5 plus year period. There are probably very few ever who have managed it. He’ll be fired, then be really good for a few years in the next job he takes. Hopefully he learns from this again, as he did from his Liverpool experience. Newcastle job maybe? They’ll be looking for someone slightly sexier than Howe as that seems to have gone a bit stale. Howe is doing a decent job and is nowhere near being at risk of losing his job. Villa might be looking for a new manager soon though 😏. Either there or Brighton but I'd imagine Brighton would have filled that position by then. Leicester are fucked this season, I don't see them staying up either. Could potentially lose Tielemans and/or Maddison in Jan. Barnes should be at a bigger club aswell. Their poor and lack of business in the transfer window has well and truly fucked them. I know a lot of Geordies and the word is that the feel good factor from last season is starting to drift. We’ll see. Can’t see Leicester going down, there’s loads of dogshit teams kicking about with players far below the level of Leicester. They’ll get a new manager swing. Too early to count them out, they’re probably only a couple of wins from mid table.

Got proper screwed by VAR in the Palace and the Vermin game. They may improve under a new manager but I don't think they've got the quality in the squad either. Think they'll be in and around the relegation zone for most of the season at least. A lot depends where they are around Jan and if they can bring in anyone to help them.

We need to give Brentford a good slap when we play them at OT.

We need to give Brentford a good slap when we play them at OT. Highlights the fact the most teams raise their game when it comes to playing us. There is a scintilla of comfort in that. But yeah, let’s wipe the floor with them at OT.

We score one or two and play it safe just sitting back instead of going for the kill.

We’re fucking shit, or have been for the better part of ten years. Teams that beat us don’t have to raise their game like they used to. Nobody says “game raising bastards” about those teams that beat shit Arsenal sides for the last fifteen years. If our players don’t fancy it all you have to do is try harder than them.

I don't disagree either. It's not a case of other teams "raising their game". More a case of us not raising ours. Think that's been pretty evident over the last few years. I'm talking about games we do win. We don't go for the kill (Unless its Leeds), we'll score one, maybe two then sit back and invite teams to come at us. That needs to change.

I think it's somewhere in the middle, they don't have to raise their game that much, but it must be nice to put your foot on your childhood bully's neck when they've already been beaten to the ground.

Also true. However, for the first time in a decade I feel like we are finally going to arrest this. I’m not saying we’ll dominate but under Ten Hag we won’t be bullied any more.

The quick work he's done with the defence so far is enough to suggest we're on the right track there. Hopefully one or two more windows and we'll soon know what this team is really capable of (Have faith it's great things).
