Do we even need punditry? Why don’t they just put Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry on at half time? Seriously, used to fill gaps on telly with that all the time years ago. Totally agree with that. Just a single commentator during the matches like barry davis and motty used to do. Honestly, I think in general I enjoy enough of Sky’s output for them to warrant having it. Alright, Redknapp is tosh, but Neville and Carragher together were a breath of fresh air (and spit) following Keys and Gray’s atrocious two decades at the helm. Keane is good value as well. Even Souness used to have something to say and provided moments over the years (nearly coming to blows with Ruud Gullit being one). And I think Neville is really good in that co-commentary role. But who else has gotten it anywhere near right? BBC is bad across the board. Jenas, Danny Murphy offering nowt. Shearer has been on there forever, offers nothing. Which I don’t think is an issue on MOTD as my Nana didn’t want to sit there on Saturday night watching someone get the tactics board out. But on live games, he’s pointless. ITV during tournaments is ok with Gary and Roy coming in. Ian Wright does the England games. He’s great, proper personality and genuine enthusiasm, he’s what Micah Richards wishes he was. Him leaving MOTD is a disaster for that show. Can’t think who else is on ITV. Channel 4 had such a great chance to do something different when they got the England games, but it’s fucking dog muck. Michael Owen. And I love Dubbers, but not on commentary. Think they’ve had Rob Green on commentary as well. What even is that as a decision? TNT or BT, whatever. The worst by a mile. They’ve had Owen, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Scholes, Lescott. All dullards at best and fucking clueless at worst. Lescott physically cannot operate on television. He just doesn’t have “it”. Completely wooden, but he’s lasted about ten years doing it across multiple channels. That’s as big a problem as women getting jobs to tick boxes. Who has he sucked off then, to get a gig? Must be a fucking fleet of people. He shares an agent with Rio. Also while I’m on, Rio Ferdinand is an absolute fucking know-nothing plum of a man. Just a goon. Amazon has been ok so far but only on the commentary side of things because they’ve got national treasure Ally McCoist alongside Tyldesley. But their punditry is guff as well, ten games on at once and somehow Roberto Martinez is pitch-side at all of them. I gave up smoking several years ago and the worst thing about it was having to actually watch the half time shite. Spent fifteen years going out for a fag at half time. I can remember sitting there, gasping for a ciggie, watching Jamie Redknapp talking and thinking “what the actual fuck is this?”. Nearly went and bought a twenty deck there and then. Anyway, sorry for that dissertation, I’m off work.

I think they know something about football but they can't express their real opinions in this day and age because football supporters are perceived to be babies. Look at the stick Keano got for reminding Liverpool and Van Dick that they ain't all that. Look at the stick Souness got for basically saying what every utd fan thought about Paul Pogba. At one point, people thought his subconscious racism was on display. Modern football analysis isn't really analysis. Watch the MOTD coverage, they draw a few lines and explain some stuff but it's basically the same thing week in week out and they're probably making hundreds of thousands for a day's work every year. It's undoubtedly jobs for the boys stuff.

Like I said, I always thought of my Nana being part of the audience for that every week. She doesn’t need the ins and outs of a fart being analysed. It needs personalities and sound bites as much as anything. Roy Keane would be game changing for that show, they should be backing a truck full of money up to his house. Having said that, I rarely watch MOTD. Sometimes I record it if we have a good win, but I only skip through to our bit anyway.

I agree though, there's room for some innovation.

Dragusin to Spurs done. Excited to have a Romanian again in Premier League but not sure about him being ready for it. Time will tell I guess.

Funny how Bayern tried to hijack that move and failed. But easily hijacked our move for Kim-Jae Min (probably because we kept stalling and stalling and trying to sign Mason Mount by which time they concluded the deal).

Well, you'd think that's Everton done for.

I know it won't happen but i hope they're found guilty of all charges and thrown out the league!
Manchester City charges: Premier League says date has been set for hearing By Simon Stone BBC Sport
Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says a date has been set for the hearing into Manchester City's alleged breaches of financial rules.
But, speaking in front of MPs, Masters said he could not reveal the date.
Everton, already appealing against a 10-point deduction for a previous charge, and Nottingham Forest were charged for breaching league profit and sustainability rules on Monday.
Masters said he understood why both clubs' fans might be frustrated.
"I can [understand] but they are very different charge" he told the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) committee.
"If any club, the current champions or otherwise, had been found in breach of the spending rules, they would be in exactly the same position as Everton or Nottingham Forest.
"But the volume and character of the charges laid before Manchester City, which I obviously cannot talk about at all, are being heard in a completely different environment.
"There is a date set for that proceeding. Unfortunately, I can't tell you when that is but it is progressing."

Fine or even something like a 10 point deduction wont matter in the slightest to City in the grand scheme of things. They need to be stripped of their titles and relegated to Championship.
I know , not gonna happen but one can hope !

Everton do something to piss the English FA off to where they just all over them? If there is a proof that City is paying off people this is it.... 113 charges and we've heard literally nothing. Lonely little Everton was charged and given 10 point deduction then charged again before City

City was always going to take a while with the sheer volume of charges against them. Hopefully it’s worth the wait.
