Because we dont need to sell rooney, but like bale to madrid, chelsea REALLY want the player, so if they want him that badly they will cough up whatever we want. Not rocket science. This I agree with, they want him badly and they're probably prepared to pay a lot. But if I had to go on the players' worth alone, a straight swap would be a good deal for both.

I'd love Mata but if we turned down Ozil (who I rate as high if not higher), surely the Mata stuff is bollocks too?

Welbeck isn't a No. 10 though. But yeah.
It's not a disaster though, as I've said before, there's a major difference between Kagawa out wide in a 4-4-2 and Kagawa on the left in a fluent 3 within a 4-2-3-1, where he plays for Japan. What is he then? Although he isn't a traditional playmaker, his best games have come as the number 10. (Madrid home and away, Swansea, etc.)

Ignoring where Mata plays, to humour you, Carrick for starters.. How many strikers do they have and how many are worth mentioning, you tell me mate

Lukaku is the only one worth mentioning really. It's no secret Torres is finished and despite scoring a few Ba has just looked out of his depth there to me.

But compared to us, they have more players able to score double figures than we do, that is obviously just my opinion. My points is, I don't think they need Rooney much more than we need to add to our midfield.

Unless we want to stick to 4-4-2, we could be able to make those two work together behind RVP.

Or 9 1/2 or whatever semantics we want to get into. He can play behind a striker. Infact he reminds me of a technically better, much more dangerous version of Park in the role. Part of me thinks Rooney isn't too stupid for being worried about his time here, both Kagawa and Welbeck have to potential to knock him out the side. I'd expect to See welbeck outwide and Kagawa in the middle than vice versa though.

He is an attacker, who we have aplently even if not as good as him!!

If they throw in Ramires we'll talk.
Won't happen though. He's such a Jose player.
