Good game that. Strootman was ok, didn't see anything to get excited about if I'm honest, actually a couple of times he seemed to get beaten for pace quite easily and didn't look especially mobile, Maher looks like one to watch though, hopefully City don't get their grubby mitts on him.

Strootman reads the game very well. I think Maher is 'sexier' in footballing terms but Strootman is more what we need now. Put in some great tackles, one game saver near the end.

Maher is obviously a different type of player, I'm not saying we should be looking at him as an alternative but Strootman looked a bit limited to me, he's not a bad player but I'm not sure he'd be anything more than a squad player and for the type of money we'd end up paying I think we should be looking to get more bang for our buck, I'm gonna watch the rest of his games in this tournie though, just to get a better impression of what he's about.

I can remember talking about Maher with someone on here aaaaages ago. Liked him for Alkmaar. Chuffed to see he is turning into a tidy wee player going on reports.
Holtby apparently showed why he should be a steal for Spurs as well.
Delighted at this 'Strootman = Fire-fighter' idea. Exactly what we need, and he can improve.
Clearing the calender for the next Dutch match so I can get a first hand look!

After watching the game I agree I think in the prem he won't be getting forward much he will be better deep and would be best rotating with carrick and fully bedding in. Get him and a box to box mid

Can't wait to see Spain in action again. Players like Thiago, Isco, Rodrigo and others. They are just a different class.

Norway doing England here. Essentially: 2 chances = 2 goals, 2-0.
England going out, Pearce surely getting the sack. He'll probably blame it on missing players and not the fact Henderson gets picked instead of the likes of Will Hughes.
Butland flapped something shocking for the first goal too.

It'll be the 2nd tourney in a row England have seriously under performed. Pearce really hasn't z clue and its actually bordering on harmful letting such a caveman coach youngsters. I watched bits of it and it looks like Zaha is playing as a striker? Genius.

He is. England are apparently playing 4-3-3 but really it's 4-5-1. Case of just trying to start all your good players and bugger what positions because we just need them on.
EDIT: Wickham came on at half-time and is up front now. Don't know what formation they're playing now.
3-0 Norway, United former-Youth player and Molde starlet Magnus Eikrem with the third.
Martin Tyler trotting out the Pearce excuses of '13 players' being missing already.

Played up front in the first half and got very little decent service; I switched off in the second half when England scored and Norway just took the win. Game died so I went out for beers and I dunno how Zaha got on. Wickham had been brought on at HT, so Zaha was probably wide in the second half.
