UEFA's answer to the NextGen Series by any chance?
It'll hopefully be good to see the youngsters competing in competitive European competition even at a youth level.

I'd forgotten that the NextGen series wasnt UEFA's. Should be good to give the youth players a chance in a proper competitive European tournament. And give the fans more Euro Away trips

Two of the three away clashes in Group A have still to be confirmed but the final home match of the opening stages, against Ukrainians Shakhtar Donetsk, will be held at Leigh Sports Village.
The knockout rounds are all single matches rather than two legs with the draw taking place on 13 December. There is no extra time with the ties going straight to penalties if level after 90 minutes.
The final will take place in Nyon on Monday 14 April to decide the winners of the Lennart Johansson Trophy, which is named after UEFA's honorary president.

UEFA Youth League will become a permanent UEFA competition starting from the 2015/16 season, with the tournament expanded from 32 to 64 teams. The new format of the competition will see the two groups of teams compete in separate paths until the play-offs: - In the UEFA Champions League path, the 32 Champions League youth teams will retain the group stage format and schedule which correspond to the Champions League group stage. The group winners will advance to the round of 16, and the group runners-up will advance to the play-offs.
- In the Domestic Champions path, the 32 youth domestic champions will play two rounds of two-legged ties, with the eight winners advancing to the play-offs.
- In the play-offs, the youth domestic champions will play a single match at home against the UEFA Champions League path group runners-up.
- In the round of 16, the UEFA Champions League path group winners will play a single match against the winners of the play-offs (home team determined by draw).
- In the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final, teams will play each other over a single match (quarter-finals home team determined by draw, semi-finals and final played at neutral venues).
The under-19 age limit will be retained, but clubs will be able to include a maximum of three under-20 players in their overall list of 40 players for the competition, in order to alleviate the burden on players having school duties.

Goss, Fletcher, Weir, Rothwell, Pearson, Harrop, Grimshaw, Love & El Fitouri are all too old to play.
Would guess the 3 U-20 players that will be registered are J-C. Pereira, Redmond & either Willock or Riley.
