I've stayed out of here until I'd binged TLOU. Loving it. Never played the game sp all new to me. One or two weaker episodes but all in all it's been brilliant.

Latest episode of TLOU was very good.
How is the pacing of the show for those who’ve played the game? I haven’t and I keep thinking some of it feels rushed, but am assuming it watches like video games generally play, moving from a one level to the next pretty swiftly, so to speak.

It’s definitely rushed but it’s over 9 episodes so it’s expected I guess. You’ve got that pretty much spot on. Probably takes about 15 hours to complete the game. The focus is always on Joel and Ellie though so none of the other bits on the tv series are seen.

With season two likely solely covering the second game? Feels like they could've fleshed it out a bit more and taken a couple of seasons to cover each game. I wonder if it ends up like GoT where they make more seasons after completing the story from the second game and the show overtakes the game storyline. Enjoying it anyway. There's been the odd down spot but both Joel and Ellie are incredibly engaging characters.

You hardly see any infected during the show or much else beyond that compared to the game. Obviously the game would be pretty shit if you're just walking around hardly fighting anyone! Season 2 has to include more fight scenes, so high hopes for that one.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of infected, especially in the last episode where, in the game there was a pretty intense boss fight with hordes of the fuckers coming at you!

I haven’t and I keep thinking some of it feels rushed, but am assuming it watches like video games generally play, moving from a one level to the next pretty swiftly, so to speak. It's nigh on impossible to have as many infected in the show as it did in the game imo. It's very hard to feel and display the visceral thrill of escaping and killing the infected via cutscenes. That combat needs to be felt on a controller. The game also prioritized stealth and pragmatism - because ammo was scarce and a few hits from even the lowliest infected would end up killing you. So it would be boring to watch them continuously sneak up on hordes of infected. I'm glad they didn't go down the path of making them fight too many of these creatures. Through the limited interactions with the infected on the show, they established that avoiding them is better than engaging because even a scratch is enough to turn you. So what we're basically watching here are the cutscenes of the game Very well done cutscenes mind.

Finale of TLOU was excellent. Really excited and interested to see where they go with it next season. Though I guess you lot who played the game already know!

Absolutely loved TLOU. Never played the game so no comparisons for me to get hung up on either. The chemistry between Joel and Ellie completely sold the show to me. I was a little worried it would come off like Walking Dead which I gave up on before I slipped into a misery coma, but it was actually very funny in places as well. Cannot wait for series 2.
