Well if Pool get Klopp, we might see some of his old players/German contingent heading his way... Why would Klopp join that shower of shit? They spent 120 million pounds last summer and will be lucky to finish 7th. Next season they need even more investment, probably closer to 200 million, to even realistically compete for a top 4 spot let alone win the Prem. Does Liverpool look like they have 250 million to blow in one season? I don't think so. Because, as much as we hate to say it, they're still a huge draw. Liverpool are a very big club, and as such can and will attract some big names. The rest of the world doesn't view them the way United fans do, just like the rest of the world doesn't view United the way Liverpool fans do. In the 80's United still managed to attract a manager like Ferguson (hot shit after his success at Aberdeen and a manager who had just rejected Arsenal) despite having gone 19 years without a title, and just 3 trophies in the last 17 years. We did that because Manchester United always were and are a massive draw. It pains me to say it, but so are Liverpool.

Fuck - if Klopp goes there then Gundo will be the Slippy replacement .. and there was me hoping to laugh at Henderson for the next 5 years

We went as a family to Hong Kong 4 years ago and Liverpool were a bigger draw there than Utd, Even Arsenal was equal to Utd over there, and remember Utd were the top dogs in England then. Won the league and finalists in the European cup

That may be true, but the modern 21-25 year old doesn't necessarily submit to the romanticism of the 80s. Chances are, given the chance to play in the Champions League for one of the biggest clubs in the world immediately, with a squad that is being rebuilt to win the league most would choose United over a team that finished (hopefully) 5th and were never in the title race.

Gut feeling tells me he's off to Bayern.
Photo of meeting between Watzke and Rummenige last week, comments about prefering not to sell to a Bundesliga rival (a.k.a "someone please offer us an fucking alternative") and the recent rumors of their interest.
Jan Aage Fjortoft ✔@janaagefjortoft As I understand: Bayern very keen on Gündogan. Makes sense. He is 24. Bayern got some 30+ players
I don't get it, why always BVB to Bayern? Surely players have more class than that.
Poor club, poor fans.

Don't forget, Fergie had a chance to sign Gundogan before he joined Dortmund but felt he wasn't ready (correctly by all accounts) I also remember us being seriously linked with him just before Fergie retired. If Utd and Liverpool are in for him it's no contest, regardless of Klopp. That applies to any player. The only thing that makes it a contest is if the player is worried about playing time, similar to Ramsey and Arsenal.

Playing for a club with a richer history? I meant to the only other club in Germany that are bitter rivals of BVB. Obviously. There are other clubs our there besides Bayern fucking Munich but it seems most of the BVB players are happy enough to jump ship to their rivals. I can't imagine myself doing the same. Move to a team that's been pipping my own team to silverware and pretty much weakening our side for years? Nope.

Didn't Hummels say something about it, or was he mis-quoted by the press?

Playing for a club with a richer history? When I first came to Germany I couldn't understand why all of Top players go to Bayern. My research assistants explained it to me as comparable to joining royalty. The cultural benefits go way beyond most other clubs and are for lifetime. For Götze, his ambitions remain tied to Germany and has settled in. Others like Kroos found the atmosphere stifling. BM has a unique style of control, almost a brand trademark, which is nothing like life in UK or USA. Control freakery has very strong impulse in Bavaria, and German institutions, patronage for benefits are huge such as places in top universities etc. Germans call it Vitamin-B. In Gundogan's case the Germano-Turk political issues are also very important, building further multicultural ties for his families would be a strong impulse behind a decision to stay in Germany.

Nah, BVB was capable to win something other than the domestic league and national titles, could Arsenal ever win a Champions League against a Juventus commanded by Del Piero? Arsenal is more of a Leverkusen

WHAT.
Dortmund is about 60km from there so that can only mean one thing - we're signing Gundogan's girlfriend.
UPDATE
Sport Witness @sport_Witness 3m3 minutes ago Gundogan's wife on Instagram posted this pic. People are taking it to mean she is in Manchester... it does not...
Sport Witness @sport_Witness 3m3 minutes ago It means she is at a luggage carousel waiting for bags from Dusseldorf, and a flight from Manchester is also using that carousel.
Sport Witness @sport_Witness 2m2 minutes ago The DE4710 Manchester is a flight number and the flight goes to Palma, Majorca - so that's where she is. Flew from Dusseldorf.

I wish they wouldn't debunk these theories so damn quickly!! It is Muppet season after all!! I do find it weird that the inclusion of Manchester is still a bit telling!
