This thread makes me laugh -
On Fabregas " we need to give up on this deal, he aint gonna come/barca aint gonna sell"
On Gundogan " we need to get him no matter what. Doesn't matter what Dortmund want, etc"
So we should stop trying to buy a player whose people the club have spoken to and has indicated would be interested in a move if the club can negotiate a deal with his club, but should try and buy, no matter what, a player who has given no indication he wants to leave at all and who's club has already lost their best player to their biggest rivals and are about to lose their next best player next season to the same rivals?
And United are the clueless ones eh? Ok....

We won't get him. We had our chance and didn't spot his potential.

Gundogan just isn't going to happen. And an opening bid of 35mill should be treated on here the same our opening bid for Fabregas was.
Dortmund will not sell him. Unless offered stupid money - ie. 45-50mill minimum.
They don't need to sell. The player hasn't said he wants to leave. They have just lost their best player to a rival.
Imagine the uproar on here if United sold Rooney to chelsea, let RVP go to them for free next year and then wanted to sell Kagawa to Inter for 20mill?
Now, that's the Dortmund equivalent....Can you honestly see it happening?

We won't get him. We had our chance and didn't spot his potential. This is what bothers me. We are supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the best scouting networks out there. Yet we never seem to be the ones identifying these quality midfielders from a young age before they go elsewhere and their value skyrockets. We can do it with other positions (Hernandez for example) but we never pluck a young midfielder out of obscurity and end up having a diamond on our hands, the way other clubs seem to. And there's others like Vidal who aren't even obscure yet still we don't seem to be interested and they move to another big club. It's strange.

do we really need to start a thread which will leave us deflated and down - this really doesn't help Transfer Muppets at all. chances of Us getting Gundogen are about the same as Real coming out ans saying that there is no value in the market and their Targets were going for silly Money

We won't get him. We had our chance and didn't spot his potential unfortunately. Don't worry about it. If we'd signed him, we wouldn't have played him despite saying we would, he would have left for free and we'd be searching for a new midfielder for years. Good job that's never happened before Oh...

Message to Ed. Please offer BD whatever they want for Ilkay. Surely the Fabregas fee would secure him?#exactlywhatwe'recryingoutfor

This embarassing Fabregas chase has humiliated our club enough. Now going after Gundogan will only add insult to injury. There is no reason we can offer for him to leave a side as fantastic and full of energy and precision and playing for THE BEST coach in world football for, well, us. Lets quietly wrap up Fellaini and be done with this wretched summer.
