the more I listen to this player talk the more I wish a certain Pogba (would take him to a beast level) could adopt a similar mindset in regards to being such a student of the game etc, I guess it's down to maturity really. Ander oozes maturity and intelligence, he has adapted and applied himself so well would be a travesty this man not winning more titles with us considering his age.

The Manchester United midfielder spoke recently to United Review, the official matchday programme, and also revealed which stadium he'd like to perform in for the first time, a player he has been studying and the best goal he has ever witnessed...
What is the best goal you have ever seen? I don’t know if it’s the best but the most important for my country was when Andres Iniesta scored against Holland [2010 World Cup final]. I don’t know if it’s the most beautiful but it's the most important for Spain.
What is the best save you have ever seen? I like to talk about my keeper so the one David [De Gea] did at Anfield this season. It was a Philippe Coutinho shot and David saved it with his right hand, I think.
What is the best individual performance you have ever seen? I think [Lionel] Messi. Every week. Messi almost every week!
Is there a stadium or city you have not played in that you would most like to perform in? Maybe the Allianz Arena as I’ve never played there.
Have you ever analysed another player in your position? Of course. I like to watch other players in my position. I used to like Paul Scholes but, in Spain, there was also Xabi Alonso and Xavi Hernandez. It’s difficult to say just one as they are fantastic. Right now, I really like to watch Sergio Busquets. He’s a fantastic player and always in good positions. He knows how to play in every moment. There are fantastic players in the world but I like to watch ones in my position. To be honest, I don’t go so crazy with the rest but I like to see the things I can improve myself.
Have you ever been compared with another player? I think it’s not a question for me, it’s a question for the fans.
If you could go back in time and speak to the 16-year-old you, what advice would you pass on? I don’t know but I think I have done the right things. That is why, today, I am at Manchester United. So if I go back to when I was 16, I would say do the same. That is why I am today playing for the biggest and greatest club in the UK. So I think I would just say do the same.
If you could change one thing about football, what would it be? I used to love it when everyone could stand up at games in the old stadiums. Obviously it needs to be made safe for the supporters as a priority but I really liked that. ==========================
He's really into noisy stadiums. Every once in a while he share videos of the Argentinian league through his Twitter, latest was San Lorenzo I think.
Wish some other players had his commitment, patience and passion. I like his mentality of keep improving himself and never stop. He's improved every season. He's studying different players and building a greater Herrera. He loves and appreciates this club's history.

Has anyone else noticed he's had a lot of long range shots recently that haven't come close to on target?
He used to ping them, I'm not complaining really as it's better than the no long shot rule but I've noticed he's not had his shooting boots on really

Mentioned in some match thread he should stop those 30 yards shots when his body is not balanced and ready to shoot. No problems when he's ready to hit from that distance. Now those we are seeing are wasteful, he could work on the ball and start an attacking/goal scoring build up.

May be me, but seems like he takes those shots when he is frustrated, or someone has not gotten into position he wanted them in. He thinks ahead and I believe he wants others on the same page.
I loved the way he ran up to Micki and gave him a fierce little slap on the cheek and a not of approval after is goal against the rat faces pack, it was like THERE IT IS, now do it again!
Ander is fire on the pitch. Can bet he'll be major league pumped for this one tomorrow.

www.punditarena.com/football/rmurphy/herrera-stats-good/Throughout Louis van Gaal’s time at Manchester United, fans constantly implored the Iron Tulip to look to one man. Ander Herrera. The Basque midfielder endeared himself to the Old Trafford faithful quickly with his terrier-like performances on the pitch and charisma off it. He had to bide his time under Van Gaal but has been reborn under Jose Mourinho and has made himself an integral part of the Special One’s improving United side. He’s been in imperious form of late in particular and his stats of late are just insanely impressive. Up against the best of his ilk in the division, his performances this season seem all the more impressive. Up against Ngolo Kante, Jordan Henderson, Nemanja Matic and Fernandinho in Squawka’s Comparison Matrix, the former Bilbao man leads in every single one of the following. Interceptions Blocks Clearances Total Duels % Aerial Duels % Pass Completion Possession Score Key Passes Chances Created And all this against the man widely regarded as this season’s best signing and massively influential in both Leicester’s success last season and Chelsea’s invariable title win this campaign. What’s most impressive about Herrera is his consistency. Throughout United’s stellar run of victories recently, he was immense, during their recent run of draws as his side’s stars lost their form, he was even better. Were it not for him, those draws could have been season-ending losses. He’s unquestionably become Manchester United’s most important player but his showings in recent months have propelled him into the discussion as to who is now the Premier League’s best midfielder.

Just love for this man.as good and impressive kante has been,we got our own. I think a poll of coaches around the league would say Ander is damn near unplayable in terms of trying to deal with his influence. Needs to be Captain, and I would be a fan vote would have it so as well. Great leader, total student of the game and United's history, and embraces it like born next to OT.A player that I believe will be loyal to the club for his career. He is gonna get start on Spain's team and start running collection of caps pretty soon too. Like it he is under the radar somewhat, though I am sure there are managers telling scouts to get him.
Tell them all to piss off Ander! You belong at United!

It's quite satisfying watching how integral to the team Herrera is now after we spent the last two years screaming for him to play.
We do know our football
Id like to say a big told you so to Louis
