Some good news: Robin Van Persie wants to extend his contract. espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1554280/robin-van-persie-eyeing-manchester-united-contract-extension?cc=5739"Robin van Persie has said he is enjoying his time at Manchester United so much that he already wants to extend his contract. The Dutchman’s current deal, signed when he completed his £24 million move from Arsenal last summer, does not expire until 2016. But van Persie is convinced he made the right decision to join United and is eager to extend his stay at Old Trafford. "I have three more years to go and I would like to stay longer," van Persie told MUTV. "I know, and I see people around me, making decisions where I think these guys will look back and say 'was that a good one?'. “I don't want that. I want to play as long as possible at the highest level." Van Persie, 30, scored 30 goals in his debut season at Old Trafford as he won the Premier League for the first time in his career. Now he is keen to taste success again and hopes to end the current campaign with at least two more medals for his collection. He added: "Last year we got one trophy in four. Now we have to look at it from the opposite side. "We have the chance to get five this year. How many do we get out of those five? In my opinion we should be able to win two or three." United begin their Champions League campaign against Bayer Leverkusen at Old Trafford on Tuesday."

The rags are reporting we have given up on Baines and will bid 25 million for Shaw in January. Bit pricey for me but if he was to arrive mid season I would be delighted. I think he is going to be the best LB in world football in the next 4 years.

As much as I rate Baines and would love to see him at United 25m is a ridiculous fee considering his age. Would much rather bid for Coentrao or Shaw myself, however we have numerous left backs so importance first for me. Midfield then maybe buy a left back.

I just feel shaw will go in the next window. If it is not us then I will be a little upset. I think he is pure pure quality.

Prescription Drugs needs to sold with every ROM registration i'd say. the club thinks spending 40M in one window is too much and here we are discussing 25M for a LB and a young one at that and a Midfielder . fully expect us to go with Bebe + 2.5M and see him end up at dippers or at the renties.

Can we put Young on gardening leave and boot him out first thing in Jan? Beyond a joke our 6th choice winger is starting all the big games.. If Herrera is everything he is claimed to be, exactly what we were missing in the middle of the park yest. Shaw is a no brainer.. Reality? Plum new contract for Roo and Fletch back. 2 quality signings Market very inflated in Jan rhetoric..

We won't be back in for Herrera. They won't budge and we value him at 20 million. He won't be a first team regular for 2 years according to one source. That was in the Telegraph.
Honestly, if half the stuff our scouts come out with are true then random drug tests need to be introduced for all staff and not just players.

For a big club, we honestly have probably one of the worst scouting networks in football.
