it isnt done till its done, and someone at chelsea may still realise their mistake Chelsea aren't making a mistake. It was rumoured before a kick of pre season that mourinho didn't really want mata. That's been proven true. 37m for a squad player is a good deal for them, he prob wants out himself. Probably gives them breathing room in ffp to sign someone they really need, a top striker. We can't hurt them this season either. I think its a fair deal, I'm just a little surprised chelsea are playing fair. |

We're not buying mata for the rest of this season only - im sure they have considered the long term effect, |

As i wrote earlier, chelsea have 17 foreign over 21 players in their squad(max allowed). Therefore, they can't buy a striker, which they need in the summer without getting rid of a foreign player because lets be honest they aren't going to buy an english striker and we won't give them rooney. So then they have looked at their squad, identified Mata as a player who does not fit into their plans and is getting splinters on the bench. We have come with an offer which they agreed with, enabling them to keep inside the rules of ffp and giving them one more allowable place for a foreign player. I don't see how chelsea are making a mistake, its great business for both clubs. |

Can't imagine any other team willing to get anywhere near our offer. Sure it makes us stronger but gives chelsea a means to improve themselves. |
