Let's hope Deadwood doesn't try to shave a few quid off the price because Chelsea are in a transfer chain. Btw does everyone think the Baines transfer is dead and dusted or could there be still be an opportunity for a smash and grab raid? Didn't he sign a new deal? Coentrao fits the bill better, same age as mata, better for the future. Just may have to wait till summer. Nice stats on mata. Think we got a better deal than Ozil, his stats padded by having Ronnie to aim at, as opposed to Torres. Mata is a lot less goal shy too. |

Seems like everyone has made up their minds on Moyes
I personally am neutral on him .. I think the team is suffering badly from injuries and lack of cover... Midfield is very weak!! Nobody can deny that> This year it is very stretched with Carrick being asked to carry it again and our wingers are fucking awful NANI/YOUNG/Valencia
We got away with it last year, because Scholes still had some input as did Giggs and Tom Cleverly had a decent season, but this year we effectively have one midfield player in the squad now.. Yeah that's right one fucking midfield player who can hoild his own Michael Carrick .. Cleverly is terrible, Fletcher is a shadow of what he was and Giggs and Scholes have effectively retired, Anderson is gone and the wingers are fucking shite..
We have no real cover at full back for Evra(who is past his prime) and Rafael.. Ferdinand is gone he was a liabilty this year!! Vidic debatable and he has had to use smalling at full back and jones in midfield, both out of position and not ideal..
You add to that that we are without Rooney and RVP and we are prob lucky to be were we are! Can you imagine Liverpool without Sturridge and Suarez??
With some luck we could have Rooney and RVP back very soon, with the addition of Juan Mata.. Add to that Fellaini, who has yet to be given a chance(remember the lad is coming into a new team and was playing through an injury) That's like 4 signings worth over 100 MILLION >> Then maybe Januzaj an 18 year old might even get a break here and there!!
Hopefully we can add to that defense in this window, if it is at all possible>> In the summer we can get those illusive ball winners and CM's
The next 5 Games in the league are 1) Cardiff 2) Stoke 3) Fulham 4) Arsenal 5) Crystal Palace I am going to go out on a limb here and say we get 13 out of 15 points.. That depends on wether we have those 4 players including Rooney/RVP and Mata at our disposal from the Stoke game on and I believe that looks good!!
I will be waiting to see those 4 and additions playing before I judge the guy..
Because those players last night played like a mid table team.. Took penalties like a sunday team and the keeper(good lad normally let in a howler)
I know it doesn't look good right now, but I don't think blaming one person is an intelligent assesment of it..
Personally I am excited about the possible change of style moving a little away from the traditional flank play to something a little more dynamic that teams can't read so easy.. We have identified what we need and we are getting it .. Januzaj is a bonus for us with this on the left we don't have to go and spend 40 million on a player with his future quality.. RVP/Rooney I beieve will stay and even if Rooney goes that can be remedied with Mata in.. The timing with Mourinho and Mata is a gift for us.. Only David Silva matches MAta in this area and if Mourinho had played Mata he would have had another great season and World cup to boot and we would never have gotten near him!
It makes the job of identifying CM targets easier now too, because we just nee players who can win ball and track and give with energy.. Full backs are on the list and when we start playing Smalling and Jones were they should be played I think we will be good.. not just good exceptional..
Really looking forward to seeing Adnan/Rooney/RVP/Mata at Old trafford.. The Fulham game should be epic!! Poor old Rene

I am very excited by the prospect of Chico and Mata. A few more game, and good supply and I think Chico could rapidly increase his tally. Last night he missed a few glorious sitters but still he kept at it and us in the game. If Tony stays in form cutting up the wing, AJ cutting inside, Mata running across the line and Chico darting through we could possibly still catch 4th place. We would certainly give the CL a bit of a scare...

Benji has a very good point though. Mata is great and cant wait to see him in red but if we are to play with 2/3 number 10s Evra is going to get exposed even more than he currently is. Even if its Mata left in a 442(shudders) he doesnt track back much. A new LB is even more of a priority now.
Come on Fergie and Gill bring home one or two of Gundogan/Pogba/Vidal and Coentrao and save our season.

Fletch was like a wounded Trojan last night, gave it all. What a club hero. I thought Jones might take pressure off him but he came on with a serious chip on his shoulder and was in the sulks. Jones was one of those with a serious attitude malfunction last night. I noticed how worried Neville was after the game about the Cardiff game, I think he is now really concerned where we're headed. I am hoping Mata can inspire AJ, Tony, Chico, Kags, Fletch and stuff Olie's lot. Sod the defence and Dildo Dave lets go all out to hammer the next five teams and get some self respect....

This week may well see the rents upset about Mata leaving and joining us, and the dippers pissed at the rents for snatching Mohamed Salah from under there thieving noses... A good end to the week fingers crossed...
