Danny Willett's brother got a load of stick for slagging off the U.S fans. Funnily enough they're proving him exactly right today. They've been pretty obnoxious and disrespectful throughout the day.

I'm the last person to stick up for Americans but that was a stupid, stupid article to put up days before your brother plays. Stinks of a failed journo trying to get his name out

Probably hamming it up to do with him saying it though. Not sure about that. I thought his words were a little strong (even if a little tongue in cheek) but from my experience there was a little truth in what he said about the way they behave, not just in Ryder Cup but in regular season events. All this random shouting out of "Baba boey!" and "Mashed potatoes!" whenever someone tees off annoys the fuck out of me. Each to their own I guess but I much prefer the more dignified and respectful way fans behave on the European Tour.

Put a load of stupid shit on twitter and ended up with as much media attention as Danny did.

I can't remember what coach or manager it was that said it but the gist was 'Don't ever say anything before the game the opposition can pin up on their dressing room wall.'

"Fucking come on!" You gotta love Rory, eagle to win the match. Great session from Europe, sets it up nicely for tomorrow.

I know ''twas ever thus, but it seems to be more obnoxious lately.

I didn't get to watch any of today's action but a nice fight back from Europe. Hopefully that momentum continues into the weekend. Also, Rory seems to be hitting stride at the right time and he might just carry this side through.

What a start that was on the first hole from Mickelson/Fowler v Rory/Pieters. Fowler holes a lengthy one for birdie to pile the pressure on straight away only for Pieters to hole one from a similar length to halve the hole. More of the same throughout the day please!

Epic comeback from Sergio and Cabrera-Bello for a half against Spieth and Reed. 6 1/2 - 5 1/2 now. Really fancying Europe to win this, U.S needed to capitalise on that 4-0 start because I think they'll lose the singles session pretty comfortably.

Less of that fate tempting please. Americans have some very, very good players. Matchplay is a unique beast, so it's anything goes.

Haha, you can call it fate tempting if you want but it's just how I've judged the two teams.
They have some very good players but I think they're more inconsistent individually than the Europeans which, for me, means singles suits us more. Obviously they could go out there and their whole team could be on a going day like we were at Medinah but I thought before the event started that they had to have a good advantage going into the singles......which they could still get if they beat us convincingly in the fourballs today.

What a comeback by the Spaniards to halve that match after being 4 down on the back 9. It would be fantastic to have Sergio hole in from the fairway to retain the Ryder Cup for Europe after all the stick he's copping from the gallery.
