Saw this on BBC news this morning and forgot about it, they were saying they would play it any time of the year as long as they get it. 7 years away anyway, with global warming and all the changing weather patterns (bollocks), it'll be back in summer by then

Wow. Blatter has gotten to the stage where he's so powerful that he really doesn't give a flying fuck what anyone thinks.

Doubt it, they're just as bad as politicians, whoever comes in next, via default(death), or elected will soon get the power bug and change their ideals(cave to the moolah)

Question- would there be any punishment if clubs didn't let players go on international duty as it's outside the usual time slots?

what if one of the continental associations says no?
granted i doubt anyone would care if asia or africa said screw it, but if uefa or concacaf or conmebol said fuck you, he'd have to back down. realistically the only thing fifa is needed for is to organise the world cup and confederations cup.
it would be a big coup for platini etc to just stick it up blatter in a re-election year

75% of the players at the World Cup last year came from European clubs.
They say, 'Nah Sepp, jog on you corrupt twunt', then the World Cup is fucked. It should just happen.
Or Figo wins the Presidency and as first order of business reopens the bidding process, while simultaneously banning Qatar and any federation Qatar has bribed along the way from voting for them.
