Class ladies, and damn good footballers. Both could probably start for USMNT (which sucks, but could probably beat Enland )

Bit late with this one... juanmata8.com/en/blog/second-game-in-the-champions-league-moscow/Hi everyone, I’m getting used to writing to you after a victory, and I know we all like it. What a great routine that is! In this case –last Saturday in Southampton– the win was really tough to get, they didn’t let us play our game and they had chances to tie the score until the end. The truth is they didn’t deserve to lose but football is like that sometimes. We know a couple of things about it, since we were in the same situation several times last season. It was not our best game, that’s for sure, but luckily we managed to get the three points. This kind of games can make the difference between reaching the end of the season with a chance to fight for the title or not. We did a good work defensively and that was the key to win. The three points keep us up in the table and with a high level of confidence, but that’s the past already. The schedule doesn’t allow for a break and we’re now focused on the Champions League. This Monday we pack our bags and travel to Moscow, where we play on Wednesday. It’s a long trip with two hours of time difference that will demand a quick adjustment. After winning the first game in the group stage it would be great to do the same in such a top clash. CSKA Moscow is a classic in European football. They won all their games in the two previous ties before the group stage, which they have started with an extraordinary victory in Lisbon. Needless to say, it’s going to be a very difficult game, as they all are in the Champions League anyway. We know how excited you are about this competition and we will give everything we have to live up to your expectations. Then on the weekend we will go back to the Premier League at home against Crystal Palace. They haven’t had a good start so far but that can be tricky. They have a skilled squad and I can tell you we will not relax. Last Wednesday, in the League Cup, we gave a good example of how to approach a game fully focused and motivated. That’s the way to go in order to get as close to our goals as possible. In Spain, Barça remains on top after two convincing victories this week. Real Madrid are struggling a bit more to win, also due to the high level of the teams in the Spanish league. Valencia’s great start continues with another win; they are still undefeated! Off the pitch, we are finishing the details of a nice event regarding Common Goal and I will tell you about it next week. Once again, thank you to those who are calling and writing to get more information and join the project. As you know, we are very excited about this, about football helping to make the world a better place. We keep going, getting stronger day after day. Have a nice week, and may the winning streak continue! Hugs,

juanmata8.com/en/blog/great-way-to-celebrate-my-200-games-in-the-premier-league/Hi everyone, It’s been another great week to close a very positive month of September for the team, with one draw and six consecutive wins. This stat clearly shows the good work we are doing at the beginning of this season. The challenge now is to maintain this level for months, to try to get enough consistency to achieve big goals. The team feels confident and we are showing that on the pitch. Last Saturday we defeated Crystal Palace and I was able to score my first goal of the season, after several games with a few shots against the woodwork. I scored just three minutes into the game in a big play by Marcus, who sent the ball back and I managed to put it beyond the goalkeeper’s reach at first touch. Scoring goals has always been an important aspect of my game, although I’m not a striker, and I hope to help the team again this season with as many goals as I can. That 1-0 came pretty soon and it helped us a lot. After a long trip back from Moscow, without much time to recover, the team showed its ambition from the very first minute. The three points keep us on top of the table with City. It was my 200th game in the Premier League, I’m very proud of reaching these figures and I hope to increase them. I still need to play a few more games to catch Barry… Winning in Moscow was also very important. Two victories after two weeks give us a lot of confidence. The game was more complicated that the score shows, but the team went for it at all times. It’s not easy to win in that stadium and it means a big boost for us because the next game will be in Lisbon against Benfica, a tough visit. But that will be in two and a half weeks. Now there is an international break, after that we will have plenty of time to think about the exciting October ahead of us. In Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid won so the gap between them doesn’t change. Valencia’s good start continues and I’m really happy for that! I’d like to send a hug to my colleagues Iker Muniain and Dani Carvajal. It seems both of them will be away from the pitch for some time, for different reasons. A big encouragement for them, because I know it’s tough not being able to do what you love so much. Talking about colleagues, last Friday we welcomed Giorgio Chiellini to the Common Goal team. He’s a fantastic person and he can contribute a lot to our project; he will help us to spread it around Italy and everywhere in the world. I can confirm to you that we will be announcing another signing in the next few days 🙂 Thank you from the heart for all your comments and for being so interested about the project. We are many people who believe in the power of football to improve the society, and we are convinced that we are taking firm steps towards that goal. Have a nice week. Hugs,

You would've thought every United First-Team player would've signed up for this already.

You would've thought every United First-Team player would've signed up for this already. I thought this as well. Someone raised a point that they might not want the publicity but the more confirmed participants would encourage more which is the point of it surely

It could be they aren't all pitching in because it resonates more if it isn't just all Mata's teammates jumping on the bandwagon. Easy to dismiss that sort of thing as, 'Well of course they would, they're all at the same club'.
