"This could mean that either Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie would have to move to another position - possibly in midfield or on the wings. But would they be happy with that?" Have to laugh at that line from the Mirror. Sure guys, van Gaal is going to consider displacing a genuine finisher with Van Basten-esque levels of technical ability for the lumbering Wonderbollocks oaf. And someone who plays for his national team. And who he goes to matches with on his spare time. Yeah, if I'm Wayne, I'm feeling a little bit uneasy right now.

Fuck any players begin unhappy for the best interests of the team. I can almost see Spud falling out with LVG but don't want to count my chickens yet. Especially as it's not even confirmed who the next boss is.
PHC will have no place in our best X1 once we sign a creative mid. Hopefully, it's the start of him rotting on the bench and eventually fucking off wherever. If at all there is a footballing god and justice left, this cunt won't break Sir Bobby's record.

Shitting bricks more like He is a thick cunt, so, might not have realized it yet but if Van Gaal is hired, Spud is so so royally fucked. Pls make it happen. PHC is on a hiding to nothing. His biggest fanboy is gone and I can't imagine a few of the players being best pleased with the arse kissing, bigger than team treatment given to him.

A great manager but his age worries me. I'd much prefer a Klopp.

A great manager but his age worries me. I'd much prefer a Klopp. Said it a few pages back in this thread, Van Gaal's age isn't a real issue imo. It's all about steadying the ship and pointing it back in the right direction. As i said, if he's as passionate about the game as Fergie was, then the man could be with us for eight years. Van Gaal will see the project, first year to get back in the Champions League, second or third year probably aiming to win the Prem back again, and further down the line the Champions League. He won't bail out, we'll be looking at five to six years minimum with him in my view, he'll be aiming for the CL, don't worry.

Age is overstated. Heynckes won the treble at 67 yrs. What matters is the passion and desire. DM has lowered the expectations to staggering proportions that most will gladly take a top 4 finish. If we land most of our rumored top targets, I'd say we have a shot at the title.

DDG
Rafa, Smalling, Evans, Shaw
Carvalho, AN Other, Kagawa
Mata, Adnan
RVP
With Jones, Carrick, Clevs(Van Gaal will get something out of him, watch), Pea, Powell, Tony and Zaha coming in and contributing. That has more than enough to challenge for the title. Most of those players have already won titles. I know Moyes was a disaster but lets not forget there are serious players at the clubs disposal.

LVG loves pacey wingers and Tony V is another who could be revitalized. Should he leave, I think we are now nailed on to land Kroos.
EDIT: Have we all decided it's Van Gaal and just a matter of formal announcement??

Zidane? Recently, he expressed desire to manage a team full time and take his career to next level.

Van Gaal just becomes more and more logical the more you think about it.
He's dutch, so he'll work well with Van Persie and Büttner naturally. He might get Rene back and it will give us an advantage in search of any dutch players(Strootman lovers should be happy).
He speaks both Spanish and German, as well as English. So he would be able to communicate well with Kagawa, Valencia, Varela, Chicharito, Henriquez, De Gea and Mata. And even Kroos, should we be able to tempt him to join us in the summer.
I think we've already given him the job. The stories about meetings between the club and Van Gaal a few weeks ago seem to be accurate, and there is no reason to think that he wouldn't be interested. He's expressed his desire to manage in the Premier League, and even if Spurs were to get Europa League, managing Manchester United would still be a better option for him.
Even more so since Van Persie plays for us. It's a no-brainer. Van Gaal should be joining us after the world cup.

According to Sky Sports News right now, Van Gaal is the 'red hot favourite'.
