Hopefully we've begun preparing to prepare the bid for Strootman already. In all seriousness though, I'm not sure how likely a Jan move is. While he should be back and fit by then, but Roma would hardly want to sell then, especially if they are still in the CL. Next summer is more likely i think. Roma, Bayern, Shitteh, CSKA Moscow There is a real likelihood they will be out of all European competitions by 9th December.

Players in last year of their contract: Fletcher (30), Carrick (33), Ando (26), Cleverley (24), Amos (24). 4 CM's out of 5, all past it and/or simply not good enough. If you add Fellaini to that list of CM (yea right) players that will most likely leave, that will leave us only with Herrera, Blind and Angel Di Maria, two of which can arguably better be put to use on different positions on the pitch. Based on the above, I would say that we will most probably get a couple of new midfielders in January/Summer 2015, Strootman being one of those if he recovers well. Fletcher - 1 year extension & eased out by Pearson Carrick - to be replaced with the returning Powell Cleverley - replaced by Strootman Ando - replaced by Pereira If any of Powell, Pereira or Pearson are deemed inadequate (I hope not) then i would want us in for Meyer, Schalke. EDIT: Strootman in Jan, Meyer in the summer.

This season will be a good indicator. If he can get regular gamtime at Leicester he has every chance. I'm not sure what most are basing their underrating of Powell on though, sure he was played up front for Wigan, but he also won their player of the year. He's still only 20 - we let Clevers stay til he was 25. He's literally never been given a real run in the team and he's a youth international through all the age-groups. Drive Touch Technique Shot

Drive Touch Technique Shot i like the lad. love his technique smashing the ball at goal, reminds me a little of scholes and (dare i say it) charlton.

Powell won't make it here. Blasphemy! Seriously though, as Jay says, he needs to get game time for Leicester so we can assess his ability in the Premier League, not the Championship. I hope he takes his chance.

Hopefully he is going to scrap this 3-5-2. I think we will get another winger. Mephis depay wouldn't be a bad purchase and he's only young.
Depending on how rafael is this year try get Coleman, I think he's one of the best RB's in world football. He's got everything you want from a full back.
Think Strootman is going to be the one we go for, although why would Roma sell to us if they're not well ? And why would he want to leave if they're competing for the league and in Europe still ? If we do go in for him we will get our pants pulled down and shafted dry.

Just had a thought - Our players will not be euro tied...Jan transfer window will be interesting with latter stage teams looking to strengthen. The likes of rooney/fellaini/mata/rvp etc will be in demand...maybe, just maybe, someone may need a number 10?? maybe we will need to sell to buy?

I am not sure who would buy Frolaini, but certainly one of either Rooney or RVP could be a real possibility if they are deemed to be surplus... oh, on a side note love your avatar...

Suppose it just depends on whether Moyes has a new job by Jan. If he does, and it's at a club with at least some money to spend, then we'll have a buyer for Fellaini.

You are probably right about Moyes, but if you were him, would you not try and put a few thousand miles between you Treebeard? Imagine how excited your fan base would be if old DD and the fro come walking into your club. Fuck me, bad memories.

But he doesn't stand a chance of winning games without Fellaini's superior chest control dictating the game.

Sometimes I forget he is in the squad then someone mentions him and I get that same sinking feeling that I get when I see him warming up in the 60th minute with a one goal advantage.
