I'm not as convinced of Gomes either. Got a long way to develop, and certainly isnt in a position to make demands of this club. I wouldn't even be that bothered if he went to the rents because I wouldn't consider him that big a loss. Meh

Not too bothered about Gomes now, as it seems he’s getting terrible advice from his advisors. I could see Arsenal registering interest but is there offer really going to be better than ours and do they really need a undersized no. 10 for an already weak team? A club in Spain is the likely landing spot but I don’t see the big 3 being interested. He’ll probably end up at a club like Sevilla or Valencia. Good luck to him cause he certainly needs it.

Unsurprisingly, Gomes is leaving. I actually think this is really sad . I’m certainly not going to brush this off as a so what either. I’m gobsmacked that he wasn’t given a chance yet others who clearly aren’t good enough have had more than they deserve.

All seems rather odd to me,been at the club since he was 6,highly rated by most that have coached him, when OGS was first appointed he got a lot of praise from him,has since been given very little chance to establish himself. Clearly offered a new deal which OGS was initially very optimistic that would get signed, even as recently as last week. Isn't he exactly the kind of player we all assumed would be an integral part of OGS's new dna/rebuild/exciting/young/academy talent team???

The most concerning aspect for us all should be, it's another young player that the club obviously wanted has decided his future is not with United!

He said in December 2019 that when he joined the club,he & woodward sat down & drew up a very clear vision of what the team would be by the start of 21/22 season. Clearly not going to be the case is it.

Clearly not going to be the case is it. Why? Because 1 youth player leaves? You showed no interest in Gomes before late last year. Karma wasn't too fussed about him leaving back in 2017. Why the sudden interest and wailing and gnashing of teeth over his potential departure now?? Oh look, it suits your agendas....quelle suprise. Where are you going to play Gomes given that Bruno plays there? Perhaps you'd like him to play out on the wing so you can blame the manager for that? Edit: Save yourself the time/bother, i ain't replying after this. Cheerio.

Good point SET. Gomes isn’t stupid, he plays in the same position as our best player, who is young himself. He’s not getting into the side ahead of Bruno anytime soon.

Id prefer to see him stay with a decent/proper loan move for a couple of years & i was/am a massive fan of his. But if he wants to go, let him. We need commitment to the club, from the players, to stand any chance of progress. He ain't getting into Chelseas team, lol. Most of their current youth players won't next season after Romans next splurge is finished. He isn't suited to English football atm and needs to go abroad. Good luck to him.

I’ve read on some other forums that Gomes leaving could be Pogba 2.0. Not even close. One was a physical and athletic freak who was ready to make the jump to first team football, the other a physically diminutive no.10 with great skill but likely not to hold up physically with regular game time.
