In fairness, this was always going to happen. No way Keane was going to allow Fergid to say the things he did about him recently without a response. he said that SAF was like Magnier's mascot. this guy is bitter, really bitter. He's right about that episode in general though (apart from the mascot) sadly.

If SAF genuinely feels we are better off with the the Glazers in-charge, then i dread where we would be with those two still at the club. but deep down i think he knows he erred on that call.

Strange similarities in the outspoken criticism leveled by a once legendary Keano and Rooney regarding the team slipping behind other teams. Martyrs of the Glazer ownership in a weird way. What's happened? During a spat on the training ground he shouted something to the effect that they need more from Fergie, that the team is slipping behind the other top teams.

Will be interesting to see what sort of reception he gets when we play Villa?

Will be interesting to see what sort of reception he gets when we play Villa? Meh I'll clap him. Not sure how differently some of our recent history would have panned out with no Keano. It's easy blasting him as a dick, because he is now a bitter man. But I imagine Fergie isn't the easiest man to have a bitter fall out and ongoing feud with.

So long as he is involved with the club in some capacity, he can't speak his mind. Even otherwise, loves the club too much to speak anything that would harm the club. But yes, I hear what you are saying.

They are the ones that hired him and are paying the big money contract he signed. As long as Ed gets him most of the players he wants, I don't think LVG will bite the hand that feeds him. TBH other than making sure his paycheck is signed correctly I doubt that LvG wastes much time thinking about Glazers, or anyone else in boardroom, beyond getting the things he needs to do is job the way he wants, and transfers. TBH right now if I had the choice between LvG or having SAF make a "return" I would take LvG all day. They are both brilliant scholars of the Game, but their man management styles are very different. At this point and time, with the players United have through transfers and coming through the Academy, I believe 100% that LvG is the right man to take the club forward. Last year took a lot out of the players (with the possible exception of Rooney who doesn't let much of anything seem to bother him) I think their confidence was down. LvG might give them some stick, but he surely has their back with the press, and he is taking his time and getting to know the players and trying to put them in positions/formations where they are best suited, and can gain the confidence they lost last year back. I think that explains a lot of the patience with the Captain, when others might see a reason to take the armband, I think LvG is hoping Rooney will grab it and play in a manner which will see him grow into the role. LvG is not going to be "pressured", with help of the big bucks from sponsors, he is really putting together something special, and one thing that really stands out is how quickly it is coming together. United brought in several world class players, and within a very VERY short period of time, these players have formed partnerships with each other, and have shown they are about winning trophies for the team, and not some bronzed fooking shoe or whatever. So many "World Class" players have egos, bringing in one can disrupt a club, and take months to settle them in. Look at where our World Class or soon to be World class players are inside of a couple months.. nFar as I am concerned, given his record of achievements LvG was already one of the best managers of all time. The job he is doing for United will end up qualifying as one of the clubs "Legendary" seasons.

Keane was a legend.. now he is just a bitter sad dull irishman.. I must say this may be the general vibe, but Keane was a true warrior in even sense for us.
