The Asia Cup really has not grasped me at all I have to say, but Australia Japan in the semi's should be a good game.
A lot of teams are staying at a hotel right opposite my offices. Seen players knocking about in their tracksuits but have to be honest and say I don't recognise one of them.

How has Kags played? Just curious as he doesn't appear to be the same player that came to us since his return.

iran were leading 5-4 on pens when iraq's Younis Mahmoud, who'd missed a pen in a friendly v iran weeks ago, had to score to keep his country in. he did - with a panenka.
iraq won the shootout 7-6.

Just curious as he doesn't appear to be the same player that came to us since his return. He scored vs Jordan. But sadly his stint with us has definitely affected him. Not the same sort of player. He is a fighter though.

I really hope he gets it back...love the little fella...but a season with DD can destroy anyone... Japan knocked out of the Cup. Kagawa struggled throughout the game, and tbf, so did the entire Japanese team. There were moments of brilliance like Kagawa's clipped pass which almost created a goal and Honda's cushioned pass which created the only goal for Japan. But these moments were few and far between. Their struggles seem to be a bit like ours. Their coach has got them playing with a more defence minded approach, thus compromising on attacking flair and services in the attacking third. They hadn't conceded a goal in their last three games in the competition and just 1 against UAE. The saddest part was that Kagawa missed the penalty in the shootout that got Japan dumped.

His confidence is gone. Don't see a good future for him.

Kagawa started well with Dortmund and then faded badly partly through injury. His game has gone and I wonder how much Moyes was to blame.
