I. Was. There.
Very nearly wasn't. Left me tickets in Newcastle getting the train down and had to race to the ticket office. Got paper tickets printed but this was back when our tickets were through the name of a company to maintain the Exec status. So couldn't just produce my own I. D. like you usually would.

My mate picked me up from the train station and we were driving through Deansgate when I just on a whim checked the top pocket of my jacket. I'd felt for the shape of the tickets before I'd left of course - no worries. It was back when STs cards came in a black flip wallet type thing. Which happened to be the same sort of shape and thickness as the cheap plastic cards wallet I'd had from Uni to carry the entry keycard/library card and stuff. Stomach dropped. Literally one of the worst feelings I have ever had in my entire life. Followed by one of the greatest. I knew I couldn't go to the final, so that was an extra special night. |
