Thought he needed a thread of his own as this seems to be gathering pace. Marca saying it's pretty much done. Widely regarded as the best CB in Spain this season. I've seen him a couple of times and he's certainly no-nonsense.

no nonsense, scores goals, is a leader that is something that he really brings to the table. we don't have that at the back at the moment i always hoped jones would be that but thats a slow train coming.

I wonder if the deal will depend if Valencia get champs lg or not, Hopefully not. He seems eager to play for a bigger club which we are :3 he would pair up with Smalling very well

^ im thinking him playing with Rojo would be a better/more natural fit. Two of Argentina's starting defenders.

Stew would he be no nonsense Vida style, or does he differ? Just curious.

has anyone else noticed that he has a weird way of kicking the ball? like his legs are running too fast for his body and he's leaning back? it's hard to describe but I'm just curious if anyone else can see it

Strange running style. Some people glide over the ground, Rio in his prime, Varane. Others churn up the ground. Otamendi is certainly the latter.

As us "Aussies" say, he would bring a bit of the mongrel. Yes please!

Watched him yest. Scored a cracking header and looked to have very good pace. Would fit in well in a high line.

I'd like to see him pair up with Smalling, Rojo has been alright but I would much prefer him on the left when he gets the chance, SMALLING has been decent at times since the city horror red

Stories today about his agent trying to get Valencia to lower their asking price, which is 38 million sterling. Which is mental obviously. It might get messy but it seems he's determined to leave, presumably to us. Marca are saying as much.
