£30m minimum, plus vast wages, for someone who will be 30 halfway through the season and, while a nasty bastard, also enjoys a tumble. Really not feeling this potential signing; 2-3 years ago definitely but not now. This is the kind of signing those short-term tossers City, Chelsea or PSG would make.
Then again I guess we have no real idea of who is and isn't available on the market, he could be the best available to us.

trying to understand this one... what could either side be looking for in the whole ordeal?
"I know Sergio has told the general manager to listen to offers they get from Manchester United," Calderon said. "He only wants to go to United." ramon calderon has weighed in (got this from ESPN) on the subject.
sources close to the players have leaked this, the club have confirmed a formal approach from united. i think united have been silent on the whole thing. everyone is saying it's not about money, so ramos doesn't appear to be looking for a bumper contract. real are playing it in public, maybe to make ramos look like the bad guy to make it ok with fans to sell a squad captain? united obviously need a CB and this would act as a/the marquee signing of the window?
i'm flip-flopping on the likelihood of this. i don't think it's the same as alves trying to strengthen a bargaining position for more money/another contract. ramos would most definitely be offered a new contract. is he looking for assurances over the captaincy for next season?
definitely an odd one

Again...please do not listen to a word Calderon says...

Agreed it does...but it still feels that he'll stay at RM...however, stranger things have happened... ...#nojinx...

As you are alluding to he's a bastard, we don't have any. The fact he'll rile up opposition fans is a bonus. Fantastic player, we'll get four seasons out of him at least I think.

'RAMOS ONE OF THE BEST'
Former Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement says Sergio Ramos is one of the best players he has ever worked with.
Clement worked with the defender for two years at Madrid before becoming Derby County boss. Manchester United have made a bid of £28.6 million for the Spaniard, according to Sky sources.
He told Sky Sports: "He is a wonderful player, one of the best I have ever worked with."So many qualities, a fantastic footballer, leader, competitor, athlete, a fantastic guy."
