Where's stretford end Phil? Give us the German reaction. Great signing, now for Morgan. I've just walked past GNev's house, thought I might see him and ask him what he thinks and who is next!

I thought that he was an unrealistic target and we are wasting time, how wrong was I.... Unbelievable.... Bring in Schneiderlin and its a midfield that will scare any team. Wow what a day

So pumped about this signing but we mustn't stop until we have Morgan, Otamendi and a top striker... ...#nojinx...

Wow...this is one signing that I had honestly given up on a long time ago, but is exactly what we need. Obv it's 5 years too late, but he's the World Cup winning captain and perhaps many of his injuries last year were down to the fact that he played his heart out in that WC and Germany wouldn't have won it without him. He has every chance to do for us what Makable did for Chelsea or Toure did for City. The more Germans and Italians we can sign the better!!!

So fricking happy I'm off to the bottle shop - fuck the six pack time for a carton Lol. The wife said an hour ago "What do you want for tea?". I yelled out "FUCKING BOOZE" then shot out the front door. Just got back from Tesco's with 2 bottles of red wine.

I hope schneiderlin still comes. He's got some serious competition in our midfield now. For his sake and ours, hopefully he doesn't give us the slip for arsenal.

Premier League - 'He is a winner': What Schweinsteiger deal means for Manchester United Manchester United are on the verge of completing one of the transfer coups of the summer by signing Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich, but what will it mean for their starting lineup? By Maxwell Ward 5 hours ago Eurosport
Bayern Munich confirmed on Saturday that the deal for the 30-year-old to move to Old Trafford is going ahead, with the player having requested a transfer to try something new before the end of his career. Although he still has a year remaining of his contract at Bayern Munich, where he has been since joining as a youth player in 1998, Schweinsteiger is no longer seen as an essential member of the squad by head coach Pep Guardiola. No doubt his feeling of being sidelined, as well as his reported £7.2m-a-year salary at Old Trafford, convinced the midfielder to make the move. WHAT UNITED ARE GETTING FOR THEIR MONEY
A move to Old Trafford will bring a 17-year association with the Bundesliga champions to an end, allowing Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to make a major statement in the process. Schweinsteiger has won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German cups, one Champions League title and the World Cup during his career - as well as being named the 2013 Footballer of the Year in Germany. PAST HIS BEST, BUT STILL CAPABLE OF BEING A KEY MAN?
He may not be at the peak of his powers any more, but the opportunity to add his know-how and winning mentality to a Manchester United squad being drastically revamped was an opportunity van Gaal could not resist. The Dutch coach has already had a major impact on Schweinsteiger's career, of course, having converted him from a wide player into a dominant central force during his time as Bayern coach. It's a transfer with a real "wow" factor but once he has settled in, how will Schweinsteiger actually be used? THE NEW-LOOK UNITED XI
The German midfielder will not have agreed to the move without confidence that he will be in the starting line-up and he could form an outstanding midfield base alongside another expected signing, Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin. With Michael Carrick turning 34 before the season starts, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin would share his responsibilities of setting the tempo and controlling possession. The duo could also force Marouane Fellaini out of the side, with Spanish international Ander Herrea the most likely candidate for the box-to-box role. The switch is likely to make Manchester United far more pleasing on the eye next season and will give them added control in midfield, although there could be a concern about a lack of mobility in the central area. That said, with the likes of Memphis Depay, Juan Mata and Angel di Maria out wide, they do have players who can compensate for that. It's going to be a pleasure to watch a master at work over the next three seasons in a transfer which is likely to define the Van Gaal era at Old Trafford. OUR VIEW
Though this deal is potentially huge for United, Schweinsteiger has a lot to prove. Moves from the Bundesliga to the Premier League are notoriously hit-and-miss, with a few players shining and many others struggling to adapt. United will have to hope that Schweini shines like Michael Ballack or Vincent Kompany rather than struggles like Claudio Pizarro or Andriy Voronin. uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-signing-schweinsteiger-mean-manchester-united-112611085--sow.html

On a Yahoo story about Schweinsteiger. Looks nice that is a formidable team, why did they leave a decent striker out though?
