Folks,
It’s a pretty good time to be a Utd fan again. Obviously we haven’t won anything yet but at least it looks like we’re heading very definitely in the right direction. The signings this summer have been superb and is reflected in the name changes. Which brings me to my point…..it’s too confusing for people. It’s too hard to keep track of who is who, which can lead to issues, particularly from a moderating POV. So, from August the 1st, we going to ask you to pick one name and stick to it. Play around with names till then but once we hit August, that’s the one you’re stuck with.

It is a pain in the bum when you see someone with a thousand odd post's and think "who the fuck is that?" and then have to ghost over the name and find out. And that's bloody hard to do when you have had a few too drink and have double vision. |

Memphis Deday, Anded Herrera, then AndED Herrera What made it a pain in the arse for me is that this is an old laptop I am on and some members avatars would suddenly vanish where once upon a time I would recognise an avatar photo and I guessed who it was without ghosting over the name. And a lot of members just have the one below. Then they would change their name and I would be back saying "who the fuck is that?" It's also confusing for new members.  |

And a lot of members just have the one below. Then they would change their name and I would be back saying "who the fuck is that?" It's also confusing for new members. Picture changes with name changes are confusing as fuck, I had no idea who Bobbins was the other day when he changed both! Anyway, we should leave this thread alone, so we don't bog down the actual message from Stew |

Think I know the answer but how about having to keep the main part if the name but having an exchangable part. I.e the red88 part of my name stays. If I change it you can still tell who it is.

Good call, I found it weird for ages the forum even allowed it. I can keep up because I've been here a long while but it must be confusing for newer members.
Next thing to do is remove the bloat caused by the 'sig' part below individual posts, where people put massive quotes and huge pics that are just there to be ignored and scroll passed. Not very mobile friendly. Always felt the avatar part under the name was enough for customisation. /grumpy-old-timer
