Team of the Tournament: For fairytale its obviously Iceland (sorry Welshmen, but it just is). For the best performance its probably Spain in the first two games. For impressing me the most overall its France. But for actually winning the bloody thing its Portugal.
Player of the Tournament: Griezmann. Simple choice really.
Goal of the Tournament: I was gonna say Modric's volley because it came from up so high but I think the 'keeper could have done better, so I'll say Hamsik's one which pinged off the post so perfectly.
Flop of the Tournament: Obviously England's shocking performance, but Russia were awful too and Spain went from very good to very bad very quickly.
Best Game: I missed several because of work so its hard to say, but Portugal 3-3 Hungary looks like it was a cracker. I really enjoyed Italy demolishing Spain (2-0 flattered the Spanish), but I am biased against those boring Spanish bastards so it was extra fun to see them fall so convincingly.
What Next?: I still think France are the team to beat in 2018. Most of their best players (Griezmann, Pogba) will improve, whilst several more (Varane, Zouma, Laporte, Coman, Martial) will improve drastically. This tournament was always too early for them and yet they still nearly won it. Portugal have a weird mix of old and young, but by then most of the old will be gone and the young that remain are really exciting. If they replace the departed adequately who knows what they could do.
Most other teams are at a crossroads. Spain need a big overhaul imo, though even once they do so their attack simply isn't good enough; Germany have the same problem at striker but at least they have other players who can score goals. Argentina & Brazil especially will struggle in the Russian climate, so I expect another European winner. Really hard to look past France, especially if they get rid of Deschamps for Blanc.

The climate has been really bad in the last 23 years then, global warming? The rest is spot on.

Next Euros in going to be in several countries correct? I think the atmosphere and excitement around the tournament will suffer because of it.

Ronaldo dedicated the Portuguese title to all the immigrants. Stop being lovable, you fuck.

People can call him what they like, arrogant, a whiny bitch. The fact is the guy is a genuinely decent bloke. He's earned his level of arrogance being the best in the world. Fuck Messi the inch high, tax dodgying cunt.
When asked to sign a pair of boots to help raise the 40k needed for a child's operation he signed the boots...then paid for the entire operation himself. He didn't know the family or the lad himself but he funded the whole thing. People say well he's got the money, its defeating the point. It was something he didn't have to do and it was a brilliant gesture.
Seeing the reaction between him and Fergie after the game was amazing. Proper respect there.

Looks like Ronnie's injury could be worse than it looked.
If Ronaldo needs surgery then I reckon Dimitri should payet.

Team of the Tournament: Italy. Their squad has a combined age equal to a retirement home, their forwards are crap, their midfield pretty much solely relies on De Rossi, himself now 31, and Conte was hilariously awesome. They still managed to absolutely give Spain a lesson and take Germany to penalties. Also I love Buffon, what a top guy and so likeable, I love any team he's in.
Player of the Tournament: Griezmann, he was class. That twatty dance aside.
Goal of the Tournament: Shaquiri. The technique on that goal was absolutely blinding. Robson-Kanu's was class but didn't stun me like Xerdan's.
Flop of the Tournament: Has to be England. Spineless, overpaid, overhyped little boys more interested in gold watches, fast cars, social media and their "brand" than playing for their country. Special mention to Thomas Muller, and Deschamps for largely leaving out Kante and Martial and playing Pogba in a midfield anchor role.
Best Game: Either Portugal vs Hungary or Italy vs Spain. The first for its end to end action and goals, the later for the satisfaction of watching Spain lose against a team they expected to walk over.
Best moment for a United player: Probably Bastian scoring or, in terms of former players, seeing Nani and Ronaldo hugging Sir Alex after winning the tournament.

Looks like Ronnie's injury could be worse than it looked. If Ronaldo needs surgery then I reckon Dimitri should payet. I heard a Medinal Ligament tear which is 8-10 weeks apparently. Bad, but considering 6 of those weeks are summer and pre-season its not disastrous. Hopefully they ease him back in properly instead of just chucking him back in.
