Not really sure how to feel about this one, had a decent first season in England. Can't imagine Southampton will want to part with another player, they certainly don't need to do so for financial concerns. Seems like a non starter to me.

How would you interpret this? Non-committal or hinting at more?
Manchester United news conference Man Utd v Newcastle (Sat, 12:45 BST) Posted at 10:54 Reporter: Any more signings?
Louis van Gaal: "You have to wait to see. We have 28 players. We did it last season without Pedro."
Reporter: What's happening with Sadio Mane?
Louis van Gaal : "I cannot answer that question because I cannot interfere. It's for Ed Woodward."

I take it that Ed is currently locked in Van Gaals basement, having his balls gnawed at by rats, whilst being forced to watch the press conference. After training Louis will let him out and he will scuttle off to sign Bale & Griezmann and not try penny pinching on the deals. EDIT: Or, knowing woody, he will come back with a bale of breeze-blocks

He's a good player but I don't see him really improving our starting XI. Come next summer he would be seen as the weakness in the front 6 (not including Wayne who is impervious to other signings) but we wouldn't replace him cos he'd have only been here 1 year.

Mané is being supremely underrated on here - he's in my fantasy team, I've genuinely watched a ton of their games since last year as I enjoy seeing what Koeman is doing there.
Huge pace, great on the ball, eye for the spectacular, goal-threat, eager.
At 23, for the right fee, yes please.
Really not that fussed about Pedro.

Not yet, maybe, but Mane is much younger and may offer more of what we need or what the manager wants as opposed to a player who has won everything, never played in England and is easily knocked off the ball in Spain. In any case, don't think this is happening, just saying there are reasons it makes sense. From VG's presser today it's obvious we weren't exactly chomping at the bit to sign Pedro, so there are likely bigger targets.

The more I hear his name repeated the more I think it sounds like a spell from Harry Potter

I'd take Mane and ship out Valencia and look to the academy for a 2nd choice RB or get Mcnair some game time in that position.
