Deviating a bit, but I bought this last month, surprisingly good. I “made” enough Sloe Gin 30-odd year’s ago to still have a bottle left, it’s now got so concentrated it resembles a thinnish damson jam.We let it down with fizz. Beautiful !

Speaking my motherfucking language right there. Best bourbon I have had BAR NONE. If there's something better than this I'd love to know. Woodford Reserve is my favourite ever Bourbon, Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey are also worth a look, I find Jack Daniels far too harsh these days, probably after drinking the aforementioned brands! Also Jack Daniels isn't bourbon.

Also Jack Daniels isn't bourbon. It's a very common mistake. JD is great for cocktail making but it's most definitely not bourbon.

Has anyone actually tried proper 12? By most accounts it's poor.

Cardhu Gold Reserve single malt, currently on offer at £25:00 at Morrison’s in UK, normally touching £40:00. Worth seeking out.

I've recently been actively choosing whiskies I haven't tried before.
The Glenlivet Caribbean Cask is very nice. A gentle thing, with nice strong flavours. Very easy drinking.
The Bunnahabhain - Unpeated, which is highly unusual for an Islay, but still has a good, rough harshness you would expect from an isle whisky. It actually took me by surprise a little as many of my favourite whiskies are Islays. A drip of water opened it up very nicely but overall a tougher drink. Would only recommend it if you know what you're getting, if that makes sense.

My other recent new whisky was Highland Park Viking Soul. Honestly I found it very disappointing. Nothing standout with it at all and the feel of it could actually be a blend. Wouldn't get it again.

Yeah, I have had the Highland Park and it’s no more than ok... It’s worth getting the Aberlour when it’s on offer...
