This seems like a topic that we could sit here and spin our wheels over indefinitely without coming to any sort of consensus. Giggs doesn't have the experience, despite knowing the club. Ancelotti and Pep both have their detractors. After that, who do you go for? Simeone is on a long term contract, Tuchel only just started at Dortmund, and Klopp is now obviously a no go forever. So, where do we go from there? Most realistic option at the moment as he is out of work is Ancelotti, I'd personally be fine with Pep, just my two cents.

I think we've become so elitist we limit ourselves to two or 3 managers that don't care about the club. I know Moyes was a disaster but not every manager who's not at the very top now will be like that. Who are the best young attacking managers who don't necessarily have a bag load of trophies to their name? As I've said a few times now I was intrigued by the suggestion of Pochetinno but it hasn't really been debated yet.

I think Pochettino ticks almost all the boxes. Good style of play, good PL track record, would likely consider us the top job and be willing to stay as long as we want him. No European experience but I think he'd be fine in Europe. Think he'd be an excellent choice.
I'd be happy with Carlo. Unai Emery is really impressing me. Diego Simeone's achievements with Atleti match any managerial achievement (domestic or international) this Century IMO, apart from Fergie's longevity and sustained success. His football doesn't fully fit United but if he is willing to tweak and adapt (whilst maintaining his focus on fast transitions) then I'd be delighted with him. Not like his football was ever as bad as peak Jose or something like that.
If Pep wants the job I feel like we have to say yes, though I have my reservations. He's never not had the best squad in the world and is immensely stubborn at times. Before this season I probably would've said no, but he has proven himself willing to evolve at Bayern this year which is pleasing (not least because I'd argue he made Bayern worse in his first 2 seasons). Hopefully he wouldn't revert back to old ways if he came here.

I think people can underestimate the size of task that is managing Manchester United. Look at Moyes as an example: completely overwhelmed from the off. The whole club was too big for him. The next guy has to have to experience of managing a club like ours. SAF created a behemoth, so it is highly unlikely that we will see a young manager be given the reins like we did with SAF. Like him or loath him, LvG took to this club like a duck to water. His ego/CV allowed this to happen. It can only be one of Ancelotti or Guardiola for mine, they have the balls and experience, to take it on. Well yes but Moyes is useless. Moyes is also a coward without any semblance of a spine. Moyes sacked the best back room staff in football and replaced them with a bunch of lads who won duck all. (Bar Phil) The writing was on the wall when he was setting up our teams to counteract the opposition as opposed to pulverising them LVG looked like a hero in comparison and made some good transfers. However his philosophy is too easy to play against. Sit back and wait for United to make a mistake. Works for almost everyone bar Arsenal who just tore us in two. We need a manager who not just wants to attack but wants to destroy teams. Especially our rivals. We also need to send Rooney out to stud We need to send Rooney out behind the woodshed. I think Pochettino ticks almost all the boxes. Good style of play, good PL track record, would likely consider us the top job and be willing to stay as long as we want him. A name I haven't seen mentioned: La Repubblica are reporting that we want Max Allegri of Juve to replace LVG (both their contracts run out in 2017). I'd be fine with that.

I must admit I know very little about Emery and haven't really seen Sevilla play. I'm intrigued because a few of the members seem to rate him very highly. Would anyone care to describe his team's style of play? Will make it a point to watch the next Sevilla game.

Now Gazza Nev has become a manager, maybe him... I'd certainly prefer him to Giggs, though that isn't saying much. If he does well over there then he'd be the best 'Class of 92' appointment, though I still say we need more experience first.

No stop, turn and sideways pass? What sorcery is this?!

Hopefully this is a stepping stone and he will be a contender for us. Really would love to see what Gary Nevs could offer us as his footballing brain is up there with the best.
Sad that MNF now wont be the same.

Was expecting it to be Phil not Gary. Thought Hary might put in for Fulham.

Throwing it out there, The class of 92 undoubtedly are Manchester United in a sense now, the old folklore of the busby babes will be forever remembered but the new emergence, especially to the younger fan is that of the class of 92. Now obviously I don't know the lads personally but in any program or interview they do they all seem to get on so well. With all of them hosting such a vast range of knowledge on the game and each having their own many connection wouldn't a joint venture of them all in running the club be worth a shot ? People may say they have a lack of experience but really if you had 3/4 of them setting out the day-to-day training and the match tactics for the weekends wouldn't that experience be more than enough to match any manager ? The one thing about ANY ex players, not just the class of 92 is that any player who played for United seems to really buy into the club and know exactly what the Fans want and need and how to do it. (and i don't mean just getting us all excited and end up outside of europe like what happens to liverpool fans year in year out).

Gary in the mix now depending how he does with Valencia, my guess is he will do well.
