@rustin - I see you have left the part about Rooney getting shipped out among the list of improbable's.( Great list btw) At the current state we are in i'd be over the moon if we even end up doing any 1 from the list. What with ED looking at "Success on Pitch"as primary target and et all
As much as every paper seems to think the JM deal is done and Berta may well be on his way as well, i for one am not gonna hold my breath. Dick-swinging Ed will need to something with a bit more football sense to convince me.

I didn't bother putting Wayne getting shipped out because I didn't think, even if we get a new CEO, that he would leave. Jose is famous for his admiration of Wayne and if he comes here will no doubt be arrogant enough to think he can get him back to his old self, like he thought he could with Falcao. No one else coming in will have the balls to ship the captain out straight away. Wayne would run away screaming from China once he realised Chinese food isn't chow mein every night like he has from the takeaway back home.

I'd move on the following;
Fellaini - obvious reasons Valencia - not good enough in defence or attack and will be 31 by next season Powell - not progressed as we hoped and has a piss-poor attitude Carrick - wonderful servant to the club but will be 35 by next season and he's fading fast Januzaj - just don't really rate him anymore, totally stalled in development and I think Pereira is the better prospect Blackett - decent player but I don't think he'll ever be good enough. Also eclipsed by the development of Bojak.
I would include Rooney but it's pointless, there's no way the club will ever let him go unless he chooses to go. He'll either retire at the club or leave in a few years and play in America or China.
As for buying players, I'm not sure. In defence I'd like to see either Stones or Laporte. Obviously Laporte will be cheaper but I think Stones would be excellent combined with Smalling. Combined with Shaw at left-back and you have 3 England mainstays there, forming a great partnership both at club and international level.
In midfield and up front people keep talking about Tielemans and Griezmann but having not really watched either of them, I can't claim to have much of an opinion on them.
I'm just really hoping we don't get another summer transfer window of very public, embarrassing and tactless posturing from Ed and his board. Throwing cash around trying to buy huge names for obscene money instead of still spending a sizeable chunk but not on fucking galacticos/mercenaries. Actually do business with quiet efficiency for the first time since David Gill left and don't act like some chav who has won the lottery.
De Gea/Johnstone
Darmian/Varela Smalling/Jones Stones/Rojo Shaw/Bojak
Schneiderlin/Schweinsteiger Herrera/xx
xx/Lingard Mata/Pereira Memphis/xx
Martial/Wilson/Keane

But, I'd be delighted if we did zero business with players, as long as VG or Giggs isn't our manager, come the end of the Summer window.

Would really like to see us go for Bakambu at Villarreal. Gomes at Valencia too.

Ahh, I had it in my head he was 31 already. I mean 31 isn't too old really and I like the guy and he's always been a quiet, hard worker but he just doesn't have the quality anymore.

Apparently Renato Sanches ran the show against Porto tonight. On the same day Madrid were linked... Friday night football doesn't get much better than Benfica against FC Porto, and last night's match lived to the hype. The build up to the game at Benfica's Estádio da Luz was entertaining enough, and the match didn't disappoint. Benfica should have scored a couple in the first half hour and pulled away from Porto, but they only managed to go one ahead and Porto reversed that to win 2-1. The first goal of the match came from Konstantinos Mitroglou, but it's the assist which will be remembered better. Renato Sanches, who at that point was easily the best player on the pitch, dinked the ball over, taking several defenders out of the game and providing an excellent chance for his Greek teammate. Watching in the stands was an official from Manchester United. Portuguese newspaper O Jogo say the Premier League club sent someone to watch how Sanches played in the big match, after recent reports of serious interest in signing the player. Manchester United have watched Benfica repeatedly this season, and it would be no surprise if Sanches interest is real. Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Sanches, but none of those were at the match last night. sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/man-united-official-sent-to-lisbon-for-renato-sanches-last-night

Not making the top 4 could actually be a blessing in disguise as it'll mean 'Ed's hunt for a Superstar Series 6' will be postponed. Maybe, just maybe, it'll force us into looking at realistic players that will improve the team, and not primarily the brand.

If anything I think it'll make Ed go into overdrive in his deluded search for the worlds best.

He desperately wants to be liked and thinks bringing in superstar names will do this.

We should buy Kristoffer Ajer. Fucking beast on Football Manager.
Also back in the real world he has scored 12 goals in 21 games in the Norwegian Premier League this season, aged 17, from midfield. Also played as captain when aged 16. He's 6"5 too, he'd be like Fellaini but good.
I've missed having a solid Scandinavian contingent in the squad. Gone are the days of Schmeichel, Solskjaer, Johnsen, Berg, Blomqvist and Larsson (briefly). We had Lindegaard but he was barely ever in the starting 11.
