Giggs has been credited with the goal nearly everywhere tho, so depends on your view on it. I didn't say it wasn't a vaguely ridiculous suggestion, but it's the only one I can come up with that doesn't make me furious (i. e. Their possible ignoring that football existed pre-Premier League). Yeah, I've read it's in the premier league, and agree it's bloody stupid that we just ignore any stat pre 1992 now.

Yeah, I've read it's in the premier league, and agree it's bloody stupid that we just ignore any stat pre 1992 now. Sometimes it's good because some stats aren't worth comparing to the 1920's and others were non existent. Other times it's sompletelt pointless and annoying. The Premier League scoring chart doesn't include goals from Shearer and Cole in the first division and probably leaves out some brilliant footballers.

As exciting as Rashford looks let's hope we put his long term future ahead of the club's short term needs.
Owen and Fowler were both playing too much football too young and were finished before they hit 30. Same with Rooney who is lasting longer than they did but still looked washed up for the last couple of seasons.
He's still a kid and should be continuing to develop at a normal rate, not shoved into our first team as a regular just yet. And if he's playing and scoring regular for United you can bet your backside he'll get an England call up too.
Not trying to bring negativity into the thread, just saying I'd hate to see him burned out at 28 because the richest club in the world couldn't sign a top class striker to take pressure off the kid.

I was going to say this when I saw the lineup but rhen we wouldn't have got the goal. Totally agree though. Shouldn't be relying on Martial let alone Rashford.

Damning indictment of our senior squad who aren't good enough to carry the club on their shoulders. They should be the ones doing the hard work . The kids need to mature. It's great to see the kids play but the seniors should be answering the hard questions and we lack such players. I'd kill to have Keane back now. Kill.

Having said this we need Rashford to establish himself before Mourinho comes or he might disappear.

The one thing that should give you hope that Rashford is the real deal is his intelligence. He has all the physical tools (and they will get better as he gets older) but he knows how to play as a centre forward. he makes good runs, he holds up play every well and obviously has a nose for goal. he looks to have a great chance.

Ditto for Martial who is mature well beyond his years.. Slight tangent but this is why I would hold off signing Lukaku or Kane now.. Get Ibra and in for a couple of seasons, we should know where Rash, Martial and Wilson stand.. Dip into the market if necessary.

Oh and he works his arse off as well. The pressing he does from the front is incredible.

Ibrahimovic could turn out to be a fantastic mentor for these younger lads. Like Cantona was. Bring in that air of a winner, a purebred beast who accepts nothing less than winning . Not to mention the wealth of experience in excellence.

Demichelis wasn't in his pocket. It was much worse than that. He's probably stuck on the bottom of his boot or something.
