Injuries are a regular problem. Who would you have behind Young and Dalot? Timbo? Okay. Glad he passed the audition at Fulham then. Noodle heads putting their hands in the clubs purse might be an idea? You know like some other clubs do? No let's not do that , just keep renewing the duds! Sure. I trust then to buy amazing players. They have out done themselves window after window.

They have out done themselves window after window. Well I don't disagree but if we keep giving them reasons not to buy reinforcements they will carry on as before. We have made a few decent transfers under the last 3 managers, even Moyes!

It is difficult to find players who can handle the role of being squad backup only. That's why I hope we blood more youth. I hope the lads in the youth teams like Chong, Gomes and Greenwood really find their stride and follow Rashfords example. But the truth is we dont have the same talent coming through defensively. I really want some of them to really crack on but it's looking less likely.
The muppet in me would love us to sell all the role players who are less effective and replace them with worldies. But it is getting impossible to do so as there are so many more clubs challenging for honours who have money to burn.
I hope we get the right manager. Right philosophy. Then we can show potential players who we are going to be for the next decade onwards.

Bollocks to this "oh i feel sorry for X, he's sooooo hard done by" shit.

Until we decide who our manager will be going forward, what player will want to come here? It's a shitty situation. The likes of the Koulibalys will fit in any team regardless of manager but unless he wants to come here in January we have to wait. Napoli are second in the league and will probably win Europa. He also would be cup tied for our champions league run.

We don’t need to go there. Isn't that what the ignore function is for ? That’s not my point. We don’t need good people muting each other. Just more developed comments perhaps.

Koulibaly will still cost a bomb whether it's now or summer . Hopefully we have a few other names on the back burner regardless? Not Maguire either!

If that's the case then happy days. Hopefully he wants to come here. As for other names, outside of him and De Ligt I have no idea who should come here.

But which top players are out there who aren't at big clubs fighting for honours in January? Im talking in general, not just now. We have needed a top CB for a while now. But it depends who at the club is making that decision. You would have thought the scouts would have identified plenty of options, that should be bought regardless of the manager situation. If they have would you trust the club to actually buy one? If the scouts haven't, then that's another issue that needs to be addressed. And i wouldn't trust the club to identify their own player. Of course you could just let Ole bring his own guy in (assuming he wants to of course) and just let the new manager deal with it in the summer (assuming Ole goes).

It was certainly telling when one of our top scouts quit at the start of the year feeling that his opinion wasn't being heard. Bizarre situation we have at the club. It's obvious to everyone we need a CB. It's more obvious we need a DoF.

CB post Fergie has become CM during Fergie. It’s like we have to have a glaring need that never gets addressed since 2009. For a club with Utd’s wealth it’s borderline insane.

Careful, you will be accused of disrespecting a club legend. I don’t recall any other ex-captain getting the grief Valencia gets, now. Forgot we're supposed to all love every single player.
