Whether or not someone plays Pokemon Go, this type of game really feels like the future of gaming. Businesses can pay for " Pokestops" outside their stores (or even inside). There's a Pokestop in the Trader Joe's by my house. People are out walking in groups and talking to strangers, interacting. It tricks people into exercising. It tricks people into being social. It tricks people into supporting local businesses. It's genius. This was my first thought. Hopefully it doesn't make the game too commercial but I guess it's a business & it saves pop up ads. I feel like I'm missing out on meeting big groups of people.

I feel like I'm missing out on meeting big groups of people. I feel the initial rush is going to subside fairly quickly, so do it sooner rather than later. Today my family and I were going to go for a walk anyway, but we walked down the main shopping street in our little neighborhood, and there were several "pokestops" (created by the game) that we stopped at. Some businesses or people planted "lures" that are at a pokestop and the pokemons are attracted to the lures for 30 minutes. So basically you stand there with about 10 people and catch virtual monsters. You can switch on your phone camera and the pokemon is viewable in the photo, which my kids loved doing. As we stood around, we chatted with the other people playing. They were a mix of pre-teens, teens, people in their 20s, and people out with their kids. Everyone was friendly and it was easy to talk to them because we were all doing the same thing. Some friends of ours went on a 6 mile hike with their kids catching Pokemons, and if you've seen anything about the obesity epidemic here, you can see how awesome it is to get kids out walking.

You know this game is a good thing. Anything that gets people out of the house once in a while to go and explore surroundings and just take a walk for a bit is a win in my books. The concept is already a win. It has also revolutionised how ads work in a game now, having restaurants and cafes pay them for gyms/stops is a great way to make ad money rather than annoying scrollers and the like.
This game has a lot of good going for it.
Sat by a fucking lake all night . Not one plebbing magikarp.

This game is awesome.
There's a Snorlax near my flat. SO need to find that big fucker, and there's a Celfairy near my work. Gonna go find that at lunch. Still need a Squirtle though, as I didn;'t get the option of picking one at the start, which breaks my heart.

what did you get if you didnt get the option? Bulbasaur. The Tatt-man is a Pokemon fan ?! Who knew ! Awesome. How is that possible. Everyone gets to choose between bulba, charmander and squirtle. I chose squirtle. Carbs, I am making a second Pokemon go account on another phone just to try that Pikachu hack.

I chose Charmander. Seen a few Squirtles about in London (by Waterloo station if you want to go hunting), tried to catch one this morning but the bastard ran away.
