I'm new here. Been reading Scott's blog for years, but never bothered to look at, let alone post on the forum until a few months ago.
I've been a United fan since before I can remember, wasn't given a choice in the matter to be honest but of course I'm not complaining. I was born in '87, bit of a dodgy period for us to be fair. I've got loads of memories from when I was a really young kid but the earliest significant thing I can recall is winning the first Premier League title. I had started paying attention to football only maybe a year or so before that so everything else is a bit of a blur. My best memories are of our last two Champions League wins for obvious reasons, winning that thing is a high you just can't describe. FA Cup in '96, not exactly a classic it's the only time I've been to a final, and I got to see Eric put one past the scum. Also if I'm honest, this year's FA Cup win. Like '96 it's maybe not the most orthodox choice, but I can honestly say it was one of the happiest wins for me. Had a bad feeling going into the game and as soon as Puncheon scored it felt like three awful seasons had come to a head. I just wanted it to be over at that point but then we only went and won the thing. Just a proper happy day for me and one I know I'll remember better than almost every other trophy for the rest of my life.
Favourite players in no particular order are Cantona, Robson, Scholes, Bruce and Keane. I like a bit of rough to be fair. I got to meet Keane as a kid at Highfield Road but I was shit-scared and didn't even say anything to him. Legend.
Sadly I've been dealing with health issues for some time and that has prevented me from making it out to any games. I live in the Midlands and travel has been difficult for me. Things are looking up though, I was actually on an aeroplane recently so with some luck I can see Old Trafford again soon.
Besides football I'm into music and good food. I also follow track and field athletics and snooker. Aforementioned health issues wreaked havoc on my social life so I don't get out as I should but I would like to get into running if I can find the motivation.
Anyway, that's me. Sorry for the essay, someone introduced me to Twitter a couple of weeks ago and I'm just now remember what it was like to have enough space to type anything of substance. I'll probably be around mostly on matchdays. Thanks for having me.
