www.football365.com/news/mourinho-told-to-solve-united-crisis-by-signing-free-agentJose Mourinho has been implored to sign John Terry to solve his Manchester United “crisis”.
United got their season back on track with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley just before the international break.
They now sit tenth in the Premier League table with two wins from four games, but they have already conceded seven goals thus far.
Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof have both struggled at times, while even David de Gea has been incapable of masking the deficiencies of Chris Smalling.
Adrian Durham of talkSPORT believes that a former Mourinho favourite could help out at Old Trafford, with Terry having left Aston Villa at the end of last season.
“All they can go with is free agents,” Durham said. “John Terry is exactly that.”
He is, to be fair.
“So why wouldn’t Manchester United go for John Terry?”
Asked whether they would sign him for cover or to start, Durham replied: “Well, who knows?
“Hold on one second. Well he’s better than Rojo. Of course he is.
“John Terry would get into the Manchester United team ahead of Smalling, Jones, Rojo. I think he’d get in ahead of Lindelof.
“So think this through. Think about the crisis Man United have got at the back. Think about how well Jose Mourinho knows John Terry. Think that one through.
“Free agent. It could happen. John Terry to Manchester United.
“You know what? If Jose Mourinho has thought about it, I can see that happening.”
