The Carbon Industries are versatile and ahead of our time. First tech brand in the world that protects its users against the government and the scousers.
Liverpool or Barcelona fan at work? No problem. The virtual hammer crushes away any of these people's online data.

Not really tech-related, but could be.
Has anyone else converted to pure media-center-based TV setups?
It's becoming so popular, especially with the functionality and performance of the Raspberry Pi and the freeedom derived from being able to select and filter your content without being force-fed shitty adverts which project the blindingly obvious target market companies think are watching. Hate ads.
May never get cable/satellite television again tbh.

Netflix, Amazon and their Ilk have presented a new way of consuming content and of course the black market still thrives but sport is always the sticking point. Currently the UK trails behind other countries when it comes to paid options for sports.

I have a 'paid' sports service which has a plugin for kodi and thats how I watch United play. I'd like to go with a ras-pi though at some point but I'm concerned that it will not be able to handle some of the high bit-rate media I have on my NAS.

I use xbox with Stan and Netflix. I hate the idea of TV with internet but will probably be sruck with it when I upgrade. With the exception of a few sites I've begun to start hating the internet.

When I stream things not in HD, the picture on my TV is in slow-motion almost, yet on the laptop screen, it's fine. I don't have this issue when streaming in say 540, 720 is choppy as hell, but presume this is due to Internet connection.
Simple question, will a 4K UHD HDMI cable solve my problems or nah?

Hard one to say that since it works ok on the laptop. how are you streaming to the TV?

Whenever our son calls with the grandson for a visit he will always bring an Amazon Firestick with him just in case he wants to watch any sports (mainly football) and all he does is pop it in the tv port, fiddle around with the control box and then sit back and watch the football.
For the life of me, I wondered what the fuck he was talking about when he first mentioned and showed me the firestick and wants me to get one and he will show me how to use it but are they worth it? he picked his one up for £39.00 and now our daughter and son-in-law are thinking about getting a firestick.

Yeah, get one, then get someone to put Kodi on it. Films, TV and live sport at the touch of a remote.

He might have this Kodi on his firestick as he said he can get the lot like you said, I remember when he first showed me and set it up he could get all the Sky channels including sports etc, think I will give him a call after and tell him to pick one up for me.

Well worth it. Thinking of getting one myself once I move down south with the Mrs.
