Weren't we unbeaten in van Gaal's first pre-season beating both Real Madrid and Liverpool along the way? Pinches of sodium chloride lads. My very thought... However, I trust that Jose will know his system(s) and the players will buy into it / them unlike under LvG when they looked confused as hell a lot of the time...

As much as I love Zlatan its clear to see already what Lukaku offers more with the goal. His pace will cause problems for a lot of defenders.
Also I could watch the ball from Pogba all day long. Love the ABU's that have said he's shite. He played numerous balls like that last season but because they weren't converted nothing was said. Can't wait to see the Pogba, Rash, Lukaku link up. Add Mikki to the mix as well and we certainly shouldn't struggle for goals this year.

Otherwise it's up to Shaw to get himself in there too.

Jones, who was caught out at least twice by baby Jesus and needs to buck his ideas up, when he's shipped out to another club.

Young Victor still has quite a lot to learn from the bits I've seen. Physically he has it all but his positioning has looked suspect on a number of occasions. Jose will iron it out but it needs to be worked on.

Think that's why Jose said he is more comfortable in a 3 allows him to play out more his natural game. he will need to realise fast what he could get away with in Portugal will get him crucified and benched in the premier league

Great goal from Rom. As good as the finish was, my favourite thing about the goal was how he did the City defenders for pace. He just breezed past them like they were a couple of schoolboys.

Also, to be fair to their keeper, he played quite well. Bit of a howler for Rom's goal, but he was mostly forced into that by shit defending. Apart from that he looked decent.

It takes more than being a decent shotstopper to make it for title challengers in the Premier League. Look at Kuszczak, Foster, Taibi ...

Man how Pep would love to have De Gea. He's excellent with his feet but more importantly stops the ball going in his net and doesn't constantly brain fart.

Lukaku's strike against the bar was probably my favourite moment of his. The fucking force in that shot was unreal. I said a few months back that one of the things I love about him is he proper lashes the ball, a lot of attempts on goal from us last year were so tame. There's no chance of that with him.

I just don't think he was the disaster some are making him out to be. Credit where it's due, and all that.
